I finally found this picture. Was it a New Yorker cover first? Now it’s adorning The Fugs Final CD (Part 1).

Ah, the Fugs! The last gasp of the Beats? (Hey, they sang lyrics by The Originally Beatific William Blake.) Nobody ever called himself a Beatnik–until Fug Ed Sanders wrote Tales of Beatnik Glory. Then he went on to try to levitate the Pentagon. (And is still going.)

Weirdly enough, I actually went to preschool with Tuli Kupferberg’s daughter.
