Mike. Hi!
Same here! Also not short for anything. I absolutely hate when people think it is.
debi… debra if you’re annoyed with me… debra lynne if you’re sending me to my room.
Sue, but Susan if I’m in trouble for something.
Lil. I’ll answer to Lillian or Lilly, but I’ve gone by Lil since I was a little kid. My little niece is Lillian now, so we’ll have to see which one she decides to claim.
In other news, NEVER spell my version of Lilly with one L in the middle. I like Lillie(like Langtry) or Lilly(Like Pulitizer), but not Lily(like the flower). Thank you.
-Lil
Jeff.
Jeffrey, actually. But only my mother is allowed to call me that. She is, afterall, the one who chose it.
I sometimes regret that I didn’t go by Jeffy when I was a child. I don’t think it would work for a 39-year-old man.
Jacqueline, Jackie for short. Actually I am Jacqueline Anne Victoria Stella. My mum chose the Jacqueline, my three brothers got to choose a middle name each. Dad didn’t have any say at all! I think my brother Robert chose Anne 'cause he couldn’t think of anything else! Mum chose Jacqueline because she liked it. No deeper reason than that. Dad wanted Maria. But I don’t like that name at all so it’s just as well he had no say!
My bf thinks the name ‘stella’ is weird. He thinks it sounds like a beer! (stella artois). I like it, myself.
Also, Antares means ‘rival of mars’ (the last bit, Ares being the Greek name for Mars of course!) this is because the Star Antares has a strong red colour and can be confused with Mars in the night sky.
-Jackie, who has read books about astronomy and remembers stuff (sometimes!)
(I think Antares is a really super cool name btw!)
Wendy is not a boring name.

My name’s Brian.
Kathryn. “Kit” to family, close friends, and a handful of online communities.
horse loving cellarer
Sounds a bit like a pervert lurking in the dark.
Duncan
sorry, wrong name-related thread.
Phillip.
Greetings! My name is Lauri. I am a male of Finnish descent. My wife is Robin. I love the confusion created when people try to decide which name to use when we are introduced as Robin and Lauri.
I’m Tom. I think.
Gosh, no other women named Melissa here? Well, I guess it isn’t a popular name.
I hate to be called Missy, Missi or Mis, although my family has used all three. As a kid, I got called some pretty mean names that rhyme with “Missy” so I really hate that name.
I like Melissa now, but didn’t like it as a kid. I guess it seemed too “grown up.” Now, “Missy” sounds too juvenile.
I’m Bailie.
Not Bailey.
Never Bailey.
Nice to meet y’all.
I feel your pain; I really do. My name is Evelyn. But I’m not 80, I’m 32. I hated my first name for a long time because of that. BTW, Esther is a lovely name.
Oh, and Flowerchild, you’re thinking about your name all wrong. It’s not a little kid’s name at all. Think Lauren Bacall.
Esther is my absolute FAVORITE Bible story.
My name is Brynda, but you already knew that, didn’t you? It is pronounced Brenda, by the way.
Aaron.
