I’m watching ‘Fastlane’ the other night. (yeah, yeah, there was nothing else on.)
And the Good Guys meet up with the Bad Guys in an Empty Industrial Complex™.
Lots of pipes and girders and exciting shadows and places that can erupt in steam when a bullet misses. You’ve seen 'em before. Max Headroom had a bunch, Robocop spent some time there, Terminator 2 barely qualifies. Just about every B-grade Sci-fi uses 'em.
But where ARE they? I mean, if it’s an industrial complex, you’d expect industrial employees. If it’s on the weekend (or holiday), why are the pipes still under pressure with Generic White Steamlike Gas™?
And when was the last time you had somebody call you up and say “Hey, Joe! Meet me at the South Side Industrial Complex for a good time.”?
Lastly, what must it be like monday morning when the employees come back to a blown up and bulletriddled workplace? I’ll be there’s a lot of turnover. (Especially if the Good Guy didn’t catch that creature and the episode is to_be_continued.)
