You’re probably reading the standard vB FAQ, where it says:
As is says in the Technical Issues sticky thread in ATMB, the administration has disabled numerous functions, including editing.
And, really, you probably ought to email an administrator if you’ve been here before. As a policy issue (from the registration agreement), only one screen name is permitted per user, and it would be better to get that cleared up.
The two core members of the Residents are Hardy Fox and Homer Flynn. Hardy can be seen playing guitar (sans eyeball mask) on the Moisture video. Homer can be seen at the end of Whatever Happened to Vileness Fats?.
“70s teen idol David Cassidy, Salvador Dali (until he died), ‘Thunderbirds’ puppeteer Gerry Anderson, Cynthia Plastercaster and Snake Blintz, a fictional character from Oliver Stone’s ‘ESCAPE FROM NEWPORT, GWENT’ also starring Hal Holbrook as ‘Bunny’…”
…so now you know for absolutely sure.
On a more serious note, doesn’t Molly Harvey deserve to be called a Resident by now? Jeez.
When I last saw the Residents in concert (about 10 years ago) one of the members was definitely a woman. I base that on the shape of the skin-tight black body suit all the members wore.
Either that, or one of the four guys wore fake breasts and padded hips under his body suit.
Do you know anything about this, Crafter_Man? This was during the tour when they wore giant skulls on their heads because someone had stolen thier eyeballs.
P.S. The Residents came to my town about a month ago, but I didn’t see their show … because tickets were $100!
I love a lot of the stuff I have heard. I have a dub of Duck Stab with the Mother Goose songs on it too (at least I think it’s called “Mother Goose” - an EP made only with toy instruments that is sometimes included). The dub is horrible but the music is amazing. Keep meaning to get a CD of it but I only ever see Duck Stab alone.
Not all of their songs are completely otherworldly but a lot of them are. A lot of people describe them as incredibly weird but I just find them to be a very good listen - innovative, humorous, and memorable.
One of the Residents was a guy by the name of Snakefinger. He had a solo career as well on the same record label as The Residents (Ralph Records). He died in the early 90’s or late 80’s.
One of the other Residents is female.
