Heh, that’s not what I meant. I meant the actual campaigns, where people buy ad space in major trade publications to beg for their ship (happened more than once on both sides) and people who gather all their friends and resources and send postcards in every single day to beg/threaten/plead for the ship of their choice.
I have several major problems with the above mentioned activities, but that rant is neither here nor there…
If Joss goes that route, I vote for Buffy showing up with Xander. THAT would be irony.
Well, no, actually it wouldn’t be ironic at all, but it would still be cool. And Riley-free, which is even better.
Nah, she died in a freak accident in the jungle where they shot the Alien vs. Predator. She thought they were real demons. Riley was then sent to Italy on a mission, and who did he meet in Rome, while overcome with grief?
I picture a scenario where Buffy doesn’t have an opportunity to choose which VWAS she wants to spend the rest of her Cheeto shelf-life with because in the end, both Spike and Angel realize they don’t want her. That would make me very happy. Angel can move on with Nina and, well, I’m actually still holding out hope for Spinnifred, but really, I don’t see it happening. Hopefully, given time and distance, Spike would just realize that it would never work between him and Buffy, then he’d go off and find someone nice to fall in love with who would actually love him back.
Buffy, of course, would be devastated, but really, I think both Spike and Angel deserve better than to end up with the other’s sloppy seconds.
