I’m on Scylla too! Medic/Marksman/Artisan, novice level in all three right now. She’s a pointy-headed chick… (I can never remember the name of the race.) Her name is Kathri-Ne Switzer.
I love, love, love the game but am slightly worried about content. This review pretty much nails down what I’ve found so far. I’m not bored; I love it. But I’m a little worried.
You have to click and drag IMMEDIATELY. It works, you just have to be quick.
**Drag the powerup (click and drag QUICKLY) to the weapon. You’ll see a message that says, “You have powered up your weapon.” or something like that. The name of the weapon also changes when you power it up. You can only do one powerup to a weapon at a time and they do eventually wear off. You’ll get a message when they do but it’s easy to miss. Check it every once in a while in your inventory. When the name changes back to the default color (white, in my case), the powerup has worn off. You can probably examine the weapon and tell, too… I can’t remember what it says.
If there’s enough interest, I’ll register a domain name so we don’t have to type all that Nem Thanatos crap (that was the name of my EQ guild, for those who are interested.)
If y’all want any other forums (there’s only one there now) just let me know!
Gazelle, what I’m viewing right now is “First Gear.” The game’s working, people are progressing up the tree, the economy is building. Second gear, content, doesn’t require clientside work, and can be added at whim.
Third gear is Space. If we keep working, we’ll be able to afford our own ship for the expansion.
I’m on Naboo running cross country from Theed to Kaadara. I spot something off to one side, go to investigate, and find myself in a Gungan camp with an honest-to-god Scout Walker standing in the middle of it. (Couple of landspeeders parked around too.)
Also came across an entertainer playing with their disco lights standing out in the middle of nowhere. Tried to talk to them but they must have been macroing since they never responded. Don’t know what they were doing out there.
Also, if you come across several people standing around in the wilderness, don’t walk up to them. They tend to shoot first and chat later…
(I’m also gaining Imperial Faction points faster than Rebel faction points. Don’t know what that says about me… :))
Unfortunately, I’m leaving on vacation this afternoon and won’t be back on-line for over a week!
GMRyujin - Nope, you aren’t the only one. I still get a kick out of hearing that too.
Gazelle - Yeah, I love this game too. I wouldn’t worry about the lack of content so far; we’re only two weeks after the launch and they’re still trying to get the major bugs squished and the servers stabilized. There will be more content coming along; we’re already seeing player-created things like the dragon hunt discussed above and TPTB have already announced the vehicle expansion. They have also said that they plan to have monthly “stories” that players can get involved in and what the players do will affect future stories; the first one is supposed to start later this month. (Check the announcements on the Station at http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/) So I say to give them time and see what develops.
Yea, it’s two weeks after launch and the game’s getting better every day. Literally. I couldn’t log on on my first day and now I don’t even think about it. I read somewhere that the first storyline/content stuff will be going in soon, called something like Tears for Alderan.
I’ll probably move most of my blabbing over to the new BB.
Oh, and I figured out how to do click-drags. What I wound up doing is clicking, then kinda swiping my house, so the radial doesn’t pop up.
Isacca is moving right along. He’s got Engineering I and Domestic Arts (or whatever) I, I need cash to get Surveying II and Intermediate Rifle (or whatever) I. I set him up to survey, watched Monk, made a whole buncha stuff, and called it a day.
