I’ve been enjoying the game quite a bit, but I’ve just started the fourth season and I don’t much care for it. I greatly prefer the engineering challenges to bouncing things off walls.
Hooray, I’ve finally OCD’d all the levels! happy dance
Now you’re FREE!!!
I’m still finishing up the story with two levels left in the epilogue. I’ll occasionally pop in to play more entertaining levels (some really are genius designs), and maybe try OCD’ing a few when feeling particularly masochistic.
I got the PC version it and played through it ‘normally’, having fun and without all that much difficulty; but I have found that when I looked up how to do the OCD stuff I generally didn’t like the kind of playing you had to do to do it. Building lattices out of goo is fun - throwing goo balls around in the hopes of whacking things is not. (Oddly I didn’t mind the computer-style levels, since there it didn’t feel like ‘gaming the system’.)
And I can’t build a tall tower. It always collapses. Meh, I don’t see the point to doing so anyway; as far as I can tell there’s actually nothing up there.
I’ve already moved on to other games.
I loved this game (PC version) – it was just the right level of difficulty for me.
That is, until I hit the first level of the epilogue. Then things took a quantum leap in difficulty and I got stuck.
Who else loved the music at the opening of the red carpet? Of course I was sold on the game before that, but that’s when I thought wow this is a really put together game. Ftr I had to resort to looking at the internet for only one level where you have a few blobs and you’re supposed to suspend it in the air with the force of the suction from the pipe everything I thought was the perfect difficulty level but for some reason I was annoyed with that one.
I played the demo on Steam, and I loved it. I’m definitely going to pick it up at some point when my cash flow picks up a little. It’s pretty cheap ($15), but I’d probably pay more for it because it’s so original and creative.
In the demo, there was one level where you have black and red (balloon) goos. Your goal is to build a bridge, but you can’t get too high or the balloons will hit spikes on the ceiling and pop. I tried to build a long straight bridge from black goos and float it with the red ones, but it would either sink or float too high. How do you pass this level?
Oooh, you’re talking about “Fisty’s Bog”!
I’m afraid you have to keep doing it over and over and over until you get it just so. FWIW, I had much better luck attaching the balloons to the bottom of the bridge. You still have to be ready to put a hasty ballast on the end when necessary.
There’s a much more evil version of this scenario later on. Ridiculously far and the spikes are RIGHT THERE under you. Bwa-ha-ha-haaaa!
I love love love this game! My own personal bane is “You Have To Explode The Head.” I have otherwise finished the game, but I canNOT explode that &*#%$!! head.
I think my favorite mind-blowing moment is the level in Chapter 4 when you have to relearn the laws of physics by firing goos into orbit.
That level was a bit infuriating, but I think I fell in love with 2dBoy just a little.
