In Spain los blanquiazules (the blue-whites) would most commonly be Espanyol or La Real, so using it for the Israelis could get a bit confusing… “I thought this was the World Cup?”
I’ve heard it called “the Hebrew team”.
FIFA often call the National Team “Albicelestes” I dont know from what old musty “El Grafico” magazine from the 30’s they took that. I’ve never heard “la seleccion” called other than that or simply “Argentina”.
Now, Uruguay is “La Celeste” that is more reasonable. “Vamo Arriba la Celeste”
At least they made it through the first round, unlike the French and the Italians. This is turning out to be a rather interesting cup.
