So.

For me, the SDMB is the only social media I use.

Advice?

Umm? LinkedIn?

You’re kind of going about this the wrong way, just so you know. A better idea is to figure out what you want out of your social media more so than what you don’t want it to do. If you’re looking to expand business opportunities, than LinkedIn or Facebook are a good fit. If you’re looking for connecting with lots of people primarily through web with a focus on web 2.0 functionality than you might want to look at Twitter or Tumblr. If you’re happy with just the SDMB why not stick with it? Social media should be filling a hole in your web experience and not be something you do because you feel you should be doing it.

The what?

The which what?
The what-what?

Look, I wanna make friends, find old ones, maaaybe improve my odds of getting a job.

Facebook, hands down.

Or maybe Google+ since that’s where all the cool kids are flocking to these days.

Facebook right now.

If Google+ lives up to its promise, then it might be the better choice six months from now or a year from now, but at the moment they don’t have a critical mass of members yet.
