solve one murder mystery

If you could have one real life murder mystery solved, past or present, what would it be?

Let’s set up an imaginary video camera and see who done it.

I’d set mine up in Mrs. Borden’s guest bedroom and see if Lizzie comes at her with an axe.

Jack the Ripper.

The Black Dahlia

Growing up in Southern California, this case has both fascinated and horrified me.

Jon Benet. That one was so screwed up by Boulder police that you could make a case for just about anyone doing it.

Hell autz, didn’t you see that movie with Elizabeth Montgomery? She did it nekkid and sluiced off in the basement.
What I want to know about is the alleged girlfriend.

I’d stick that camera on the 6th floor of the Texas book store depository on Nov 22nd, 1963. I’m pretty sure it was him, but after all the speculation I just want to know.

I would like to know the identity of the Green River killer(s) in the Seattle area. His court appointed defense team has already spent close to $3 million of our taxpayers dollars and want another $2 million to add 4 more lawyers to the accused defense team. The county council is even considering a special property tax to pay for the accused murder trial. I could think of better ways to use our tax dollars.

OJ was a given…no use wasting the video tape, although it might have been nice for the jury made up of the 12 stupidest people in the USA to see.

On a personal selfish note, I used to live in a cool building that had four lofts in NYC. Years after I left, my neighbor and his new girlfriend who lived upstairs went “missing” and have never been found. It was all over the papers as the “Landlord Murders” and it seemed like there was enough evidence to get the landlord of the building. Unfortunately, the bodies have yet to be found and the landlord, to the best of my knowlege, is still free. Michael Sullivan was a really nice guy, and I wish there were a video to solve what happened!
(if anyone from NYC has heard an update on this one, let me know)

I’d like to know the real deal with the West Memphis Three. Mainly because I think they got hosed. The thought of those kids wasting away in prison until they’re 60 or 70 because they were different disturbs me deeply. Besides which, if they are innocent, that means there’s one sick bastard walking around scott-free after killing three children.
Ugh!

Since Jack the Ripper & Black Dahlia are taken…

I’ll say I’d like to know what happened to Chandra Levy.

Definitely President John Kennedy. No way one guy did it. No way.

Darlie Routier is another I’d like to know. She was convicted of brutally killing her 2 young sons, but now there are questions that maybe she didn’t do it.

Hmmmm…

Don’t know that it was a murder, but I’d like to know what happened to Judge Crater and/or Jimmy Hoffa.

Zev Steinhardt

I think one could safely say that Mr. Hoffa is rebar in a concrete slab somewhere.
Oh, you mean how he got there. Sorry.

Vince Foster, but I don’t think anybody’s gonna be too happy about it…

I second the Green River Killer, but I still wonder if it’s actually more than one killer.

If I have to come up with one not mentioned, I’d choose Zodiac. Bought a book with the same title at a yard sale, and have been intrigued ever since. He’s one killer I think wanted to be caught, and with all his letter writing (and codes), I’m surprised the mystery is still as close to being unsolved as it appears to be.

I want to know who killed Olof Palme. It boggles my mind that at the end of the 20th century someone could murder the head of state of a large european country and get away totally undetected.

DMark, I saw a couple of articles about the ‘landlord case’ recently (links below). Rodriguez (the landlord) was convicted of tax and credit card fraud, but recently won parole after only serving 2 years (he’s due to be released Aug. 30). He still denies any knowledge of what happened to Sullivan and Sylvia.

I’m sorry, I’m sure this isn’t what you wanted to hear.

The Princes in the Tower.

Did Richard III get rid of them, or was it Henry VII? What exactly happened to them, and when?

I thought that they had found bones in the castle that were IDed as the Princes? Am I mis-remembering that?
