They’re currently under Chapter 11 restructuring, so it’s possible that it’s all just sitting in a warehouse somewhere. It may be sold off to pay creditors, or it may be used to restart production at some point. That’s largely up to the creditors and the bankruptcy court.
Some of the company’s equipment and stock was sold at auction in November. The auction included panels capable of generating up to seven megawatts.
To be fair, that headline is a little on the sensational side. (That’s not Turble’s fault, that is the actual headline.) Saying they were “caught” makes it sound like they were sneaking around in the middle of the night deliberately ripping off taxpayers. The truth is more complicated.
