"Some of the best friends I got is coloured." Wow.

Given the number of angsty teen emos who do it, I would say no. No, it does not. And I say that as a (real, not fake) anarchist.

But apparently anti-elderly ageism is alive and well.

Let’s hear it for the Pedants’ Revolt!

I’ve been wearing a ratty t-shirt with the circled A on it on and off since I was 16 and NOFX was the shit (it still is, BTW, fuck y’all if you doubt me).

Yeah, I got sack, you guys. Respeck me, peasants. Also invest moneys into my LLC which is anarch’ as FUCK.

Friendships between young children were quite common. Societal pressure taught the white children to treat the black ones as lesser. Mere proximity certainly didn’t fix it.

Where do you think societal pressure comes from? It comes from people who are racist being allowed to be so as a matter of course, and not being called out on it. Just like governmental approval comes from the government approving such things as a matter of course, and not being called out on it.

So yes, people should call them out on it. Because accepting it as a matter of course is dangerous.

golfclap

The pedants are revolting?

I know I can’t stand 'em.

Do you understand that there’s a difference between “empowering” and “creating?”

Why thank you, but really, you’re much too kind. Because you are a cliché – or more accurately, you’re a troll in the guise of a comical caricature, even to the point of getting mod-noted for your obsessive trolling – so you make it so easy. All I have to do is summarize the delusional lunacy you’ve tried to impart to us over the years, and the comedy practically writes itself.

So give yourself credit, pal, you’re doing all the heavy lifting here. I’m just a humble scribe.

We have a completely unrepentant, unreformed, and uninformed bigot sitting in the office of the president of the United States. And what does that jerk deem worthy of his time? He offers absolutely racist commentary on sitting members of the Congress of the United States. He tells them “to go back where they came from”. First, that’s ignoring the simple fact that 75% of those he proffered such “advice” to happen to come from the United States. Second, it’s completely ignoring the simple fact that our system of government is set up such that one may agitate for change and have our elected representatives effect that change if we, in fact, do not like something about the country

No, ignoring racist remarks from old racists is not the thing to do. Calling them out each and every time they utter racist nonsense, and prosecuting them each and every time they carry out an illegal act motivated on their racism is the right thing to do. It is the only right thing to do. There is no “in-between” here.
