I agree, and have seen this in real life- white people getting overly offended at something perceived as anti-black, when the black people there aren’t bothered by it in the least.
The black ladies I know would be tickled as hell if I relayed the story to them that VCO3 did as though it happened to me.
You’ve heard about how the darkies do carry on in front of the white folks, but back in the quahtuhs, they shakes they heads, sadly. 
But surely your content could be made more acceptable to most here? You do go out on these textual tangents. You may have been describing this woman, and she may well have been “hot” to you, but to put in the terms, “straightened hair, light skin, and ultra-thin with a rounded ass” make you sound like you only like (to use terms you might understand): white chocolate or an Oreo, not black women in general. Your relating of this tells so much more about you than the woman. You can’t see that?
IOW, you aren’t celebrating this “sister’s” blackness–you are highlighting how she resembles whites. This is not celebrating her “blackness”. You have no idea her degree of blackness–that is for her to decide, if she has any desire to do so. In fact, you have no idea of HER at all. But we know you like her ass. I know my evening is improved knowing that.
I can only shake my head re the whole OP–why the need to come and “share” your scoping of women(of any color) at all? Are you 14? It’s offensive to women in general, but especially so to black women in this case. I am not a black woman so I could be wrong here. I doubt it.

I feel compelled to point out that the movie Jungle Fever was directed by Spike Lee, who is no stranger to controversy…heck, controversy is just as much a selling point for Spike Lee films as it is with Michael Moore documentaries. And the term itself wasn’t nearly as offensive in 1991 as it is in 2007, especially when spoken by a white man.
If VC03 doesn’t understand this, perhaps he should make a printout of this thread and show it to his scary pot-smoking neighbors and see how THEY feel about it.

Aaaaand, you couldn’t be MORE wrong. The term, in its popularization(especially from the film), has become widespread and more accepted(although usually in a silly sense) as have interracial relationships. Maybe not so much to the general readership of the SDMB, though.
It’s pretty sad when the powers-that-be decide they want to ban someone, and subsequently look for any meager, lame excuse for a “bannable offense” they can find. I suppose the only reason VCO isn’t banned yet is because it is so obviously laughable that a thread like the one in question would be the “straw the broke the camel’s back” leading to a banning. It is so clear in retrospect what a pathetic joke it was that the thread was closed. Someone “upstairs” must have grown a brain and recognized the childish over-reaction of the banning moderator.
What about all those examples of “jungle fever” and “yellow fever” that have been mentioned upthread? I haven’t seen anyone explain why those were OK but VCO’s use wasn’t. Unless, of course, someone has it in for him.
And then the all-to-predictable pile-on. Find something original to be totally out-of-proportionally offended by, OK?? Knee-jerk, mega-PC crap like this really demeans this board, and is by far its biggest shortcoming. By and large, the Moderators do a fine job. Sometimes mistakes are made, which is only natural; but it’s good and necessary to point them out when they occur.

Are you reading this thread at all? To be sure, some people are lamenting his use unPC terms. But some others, including me, are attacking VCO3’s far too predictable “edgy” behavior.
The thing is, by now I’m pretty damn certain that all his “edgy” threads have one thing in common: they are thinly veiled attempts at provoking the members of this board. In other words: they are clumsily built trolling threads. And they diminish his other, more valuable contributions to the point that some people don’t see them at all.

There have been “literally” (I know how that word offends some) hundreds of stupid topics posted here in the short time I have been a member. (Cites on request.) To single out VCO3 because some of his are more provocative makes no sense. I see VCO3’s point in this pit and see nothing wrong with the OP. I am much more ofended by the obviously homophobic “Fred Phelps takes it up the ass” (to which no moderator has yet objected) thread which follows this one as I write this.
