I used to have a Facebook account until hatred for it led me to close it, but now I’m reconsidering…
I want to advocate a certain political action on April 3 for the Wisconsin primary (Yeah, I know it’s late!:p) Of course, I have no money to invest in it, so my only option is social media. I suppose that’s a good thing because if it’s a total failure I won’t lose anything but some time.
On to a few specific questions…
- Do I need to have a personal Facebook page as some kind of prerequisite for an “issue” page?
- What tools does Facebook provide for for promoting such a page? More generally, how would anyone find it without already knowing it exists?
- Is a page for an issue any different than a personal page; i.e., is the only difference between them that the name of the page is the title of the proposed action as opposed to my personal name?
4, What am I not asking that I should be?
I’m considering doing the same with a Twitter feed, and I know even less about it, so I would ask pretty similar questions about it. In particular, I know that Twitter doesn’t use the idea of a home page wall, but is there some kind of field for a description of the intent of the feed?
And if anyone has other ideas about avenues of promotion that don’t cost any money, please share.
I’m not going into the details what the idea is here because of rules about members promoting pet causes. I’m gonna PM a mod to ask permission to describe
