december: Just because Mr. Bix is mocking one extremist view doesn’t imply that he endorses the opposite extreme. Your post only enhance’s the point the OP was making: both positions are ridiculous. Yeah, but the thing is, there are some people who really believe some of the things in December’s joke post. I.E. “Jews are responsible for the WTC attacks, which is why they were told to stay home that day.”
People believe equally idiotic things about Muslims, too.
On this board, pointing out the first case is generally relegated to just that, a joke. (I don’t mean joke as in funny, ha ha, but joke as in too stupid to believe).
But saying similiarly negative things about Muslims is auotmatically racist, bigoted, imperialist, take your pick.
Just why is that? Neither case is justified, but why is it that negative comments about Muslims are jumped all over, but negative comments about Jews are either ignored, or “understood” or “explained”?
If you take your head out of your nether regions, search on the unlamented bigot, anti-semite and fuck head Sweet Willy. (Note, I called him on day one of his appearance)

Homicide bombings of Jews (or destroying the WTC because there’s lots of Jews there, gosh darnit!) results in much hand-wringing over trying to “understand” blah, blah, blah.

What dichotomy? There is no obvious dichotomy in the points you raise. I suspect you are hinting at something, but perhaps you should say more clearly where you perceive a dichotomy to lie.
Why “homicide bomber”? I’ve noticed at least Fox News using the term, and it sounds like a new PC word to replace the apparently too-neutral “suicide bomber”.
