president of the USA, according to NPR this morning. Hypothetically, if Gore wins the election and the leaders of these countries do not recant their acknowledgements, how would this affect foreign relations?
(Give me a bit and I’ll try to find a link that lists those that have acknowledged Bush - I do remember China as one of the countries that acknowledged Bush.)
Probably in the same way it would affect US relations with the major US TV networks. If Gore pulls it off, I don’t expect that other countries will keep on recognizing Bush as President. “I’m sorry, Mr. Gore, but we will not be able to sign this treaty with your government. We only recognize George Bush’s government in exile to be legitimate.”
I don’t expect this would influence foreign relations at all.
