Somebody help me.

My daughter is now 1 1/3 year … and I am so terribly scared of when this stuff starts. I am not very patient or tolerant when it comes to kids, and I think I’d lose my mind.

That is why I intend to work all day and stop by the bar all night, eat dinner, say “hello” and go to bed.

Spousal unit and I are NOT TV people so the girls both think that the TV/VCR are theirs. We got a new TV and DVD player for Christmas and they are all bent out of shape about us wanting to watch stuff…We are slowly weaning them off the old TV and the ability to watch their movies (must have 50 or 60 kids movies)whenever they want.

It got so annoying (we live in a fairly small house) that we moved the TV into the Office/Spare bedroom/guest room so that we could have some peace while trying to read.

Astonishingly enough, in the last month or so, TV/movie addiction seems to have lessened with the two of them, for which I am truly grateful!

You will learn to tune it out, it does help you get other stuff done and as long as you are checking out what they’re watching, it is not that likely to harm them…

My kids don’t quite understand the relationship. They HAVE however found a relationship between the VCR and other objects.

Things we have found in the VCR (after we HAD to open it up)

Several Quarters
Candy, uneaten
Oatmeal, partially eaten, (but then again who could tell?)
Junk AOL CDs
pens, crayons and other writing implements
Hey, NurseCarmen, I told you it was affecting my ability to work, er be a doper. (that and I really like my sugar.)

I forgot to add that the TV gets changed the second that the wiggles come on screen, same for barney.
