Somebody needs to fix the internet...

…it’s out of date.

Thanks to a fortuitous circumstance of scheduling, I am off work this Tuesday, and able to plan to do something nice for Valentine’s Day. And the something nice came along at just the right time.

A guitarist who worked with kaylasmom back in the 70s is giving a concert, along with his pianist wife, in their home in Carlsbad, CA. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Kayla gets out of school at 3:30. If the traffic cooperates, we could be in Carlsbad by 5:00, which should give us plenty of time to find some food.

Only thing is, when I think of going out to eat in Carlsbad, I think of Pea Soup Andersen’s, who were thoughtful enough to open a Southern California location for people who don’t feel like driving to the Central Coast just to get a bowl of soup.

Well, we don’t get down to Carlsbad that often, so just in case the recent economic unpleasantness had some untoward effects on the situation, I decided to google them. The second hit on the terms “pea soup andersen’s carlsbad” came up with an address and phone number, which I thought was hopeful news. There was another hit, though, that said Carlsbad had been the home of a pea soup Andersen’s “for many years.” That made me decide I should call the number.

It’s a resort now. and they haven’t had a Pea Soup Andersen’s there for nearly fifteen years.

So, somebody needs to fix the internet. It’s out of date.

The Internet? Is that thing still around

It’s steampunk.

How fortuitous that this comes up just as you are about to have a day off work. I’m sure you’ll have the Internet fixed by nightfall tomorrow! (If you get started early.)

ETA: Anyway, it’s only… what? … a two-and-a-half hour drive to Buellton.

ETA: Buellton, being where it all started, for all you readers out there.

Unplug it and plug it back in.

It’s Thursday Feb. 16 already. Have you got that damn Internet fixed yet?
