Someone brilliant contributed to the Wiki page for actor/director Alfonso Arau (Three Amigos)

A bit of trivia that came up in a bar conversation the other day:
Alfonso Arau, the actor who plays El Guapo in the movie ¡Three Amigos! is actually a well established film director. I don’t just mean that he’s an actor who’s tried his hand at directing. He’s directed a film every few years since the early 70s, many of them to critical acclaim, including 1992’s Like Water for Chocolate.

We found all this out when we looked at his Wikipedia page. That’s a very impressive career but what really impressed us was the brilliant son of a bitch who made this contribution to Arau’s Wikipedia bio:

I hope the Wiki contributor who wrote that knows what a plethora is. I would hate to think that someone would edit Wikipedia to note a plethora of something only to find out that that contributor has no idea what a plethora is.

Ha! Nice catch.

Help me out.

Is this amusing because plethora actually means, more or less, ‘too much’?
mmm

What is a plethora

I liked A Walk In The Clouds a heck of a lot more than I thought I would.

Fantastic!

Straight from the caballo’s mouth.

For some people, comedy is their El Guapo.

I remember him from Romancing the Stone. When Our Hero & Our Heroine were in a bad spot in a scary dope-dealing village, he was the scary head honcho dope-dealer who was glad to come to Joan Wilder’s rescue.
