You can do it Spit~!
Please don’t smoke, sweetie. What would Better Than Ezra think?
Besides, kissing’s better when the kissee isn’t a smoker. Plus I’m allergic to cig smoke.
It’s been 37 days and twenty three hours since I decided to stop smoking.
I’m still struggling a bit, especially late at night, but I’m doing it! And you can too!
The Silkquit meter is helping tons. I was clicking on it every few hours when I first quit, but now I only check it every day or two. I did this to become aware of how often I craved a smoke. It was good aversion therapy when I had to get my lazy ass up and walk across the room to click the box.
I just try to remember just how much it didn’t help when I smoked after a craving before. It just comes right back in a few minutes! Better to just get past it than feed the monster.

Personally, I’d recommend the patches over the gum - I haven’t tried the gum, but I’ve been on the patch since Teusday and haven’t had any problems, even though I was daring and went to a bar Tuesday evening. The patch keeps it at a constant ‘It’s about time for a smoke’ level, which I can deal with, and it didn’t seem to change even when I was sitting next to a smoker. It’s a whole lot better than cold turkey, which I did for about a week a while back and just couldn’t take it anymore, and I prefer something that doesn’t have habits associated with it to nic gum, which I could easily see me getting stuck on instead.
Oh, and I think the advice about sniffing smoke-smelling clothing is not very good; if you want a smoke, the last thing to do is to smell one since that (at least for me) makes you want one more.
