Thanks for giving me the fifteenth chance to post it!

Damn, that’s more times than I’ve told my getting-peed-on-by-a-lion story and my wondering-out-loud-what-happened-to-my-Chewbacca-figure combined!

Your Chewbacca probably ended up in the same place that Cervaise lost our Jawa figure.

Yeah, there was a “behind the scenes” special some time back, which was surprisingly candid: what it showed was that Adam and Jamie aren’t acting out characters; Jamie really is gruff and taciturn and Adam really is a maniac, on camera or off. There was clearly a lot of respect there, but also sometimes some genuine tension when their personalities clashed. I think that’s what really helps the show, the fact that they are “real” on camera.

As for Kari, there was an episode where they blew stuff up in a desert where she was carrying a Chinese parasol matched with a sundress and combat boots, and Jesus she was smokin’ hot: there are prettier women on TV, but none who can blow shit up while carrying off that look. My wife, OTOH, is all about Grant Imahara.

That’s nice, but this is my favorite (SFW, but looks like it isn’t)

The thing I find annoying is when the announcer says, “Kerry, Grant and Tory” I hear him saying “Cary Grant and Tory.”

Kari Byron is quite talented. She’s made some very cool objects on the show. Her website, linked above, shows off some of her art. It’s stranger than you would have expected given her on-air personality, and some of it is very good.

If only they could get Scottie Chapman back.

I remember she came back to help on a recent episode. I don’t know why she left or why should would come back for just that episode.

She is said to have left because she wasn’t interested in the fame thing. Great shame because her ability to build stuff out of steel was damn useful. The only annoying thing was how little they showed of her at work.

Wasn’t it an episode on the salt flats or some where in Nevada or something? Building a car ramp for some elaborate stunt that didn’t work…

Anyway, my guess was she moved somewhere, and perhaps it was to where that stunt was filmed.

They did an episode with childern and she was back for that as well.

This is almost exactly what Jamie said when I asked him why Scotty didn’t stick with the show. He said she was about the best welder, man or woman, he had ever met, but she didn’t like how the show intruded into her personal life. I guess attractive women get enough attention as it is, without being famous attractive women.

I do. He’s adorable. And the fact that he told Kari to shut up in front of the cameras one day makes him a god to me.

Me too. Scottie is eleven time the woman Kari is. Plus she can weld and that’s about fifteen million hotness points right there. I’m a straight woman saying this.

I find that an interesting analysis of her on-air personality. She seems like your typical creative type with a high level of intelligence to me. How many different colors has her hair been? This art is exactly what I would expect from her personality on the show.

Incidently, I don’t find her any more attractive than average. There are way hotter girls than her in science. Her personality might get you, but even that isn’t unusual among liberal educated women.
