Something odd on IMDB

  1. Go to IMDB.com

  2. Type Green Lantern into the Search the IMDB box.

  3. Hit enter.

Now, I don’t know about anyone else but I get linked to “John Stewart (II)”. Now IIRC Jon Stewart was the name of one of the Green Lanterns. Did I just spontaneously find a google bomb on IMDB?

Check his bio:

:dubious:

That must be what the search catches. When I type “lantern green” into the search box I get a whole page of hits, but the only exact match is “John Stewart(II)…aka ‘Green Lantern’”

So, you blow his secret id this casually?

Nice.

If you type “Green Lantern” and select “name,” it will return John Stewart (II). That’s because it’s picking it up as an exact match from the nickname, which is part of the search criteria.

I’m guessing that if you don’t select what you’re looking for, it returns the only exact match it finds, which is the nickname for John Stewart (II).

Now. . . whether or not that is really his nickname is another question. Maybe, maybe not, since I don’t know the chap personally. However, it wouldn’t be totally unlikely, in much the same way that there might be people named “Hal Jordan” or “Alan Scott,” with the same nickname. (Not quite so likely with Guy Gardner, though.:D)

Just think of all the poor people in the world saddled with real names like Clark Kent and Peter Parker.

To be fair, he could have picked a more low-key secret indentity than “Host of the Daily Show.”
