I’m not the only one asking about iPods on the boards. Popular subject lately. I’ve been ripping CDs onto my new computer for a couple of days. So far, 24 albums in three-and-a-half hours. iPod’s all hooked up.
The thing about handling all of this music, is that I can’t find stuff. My Spike Jones Musical Depreciation Revue has gone missing. I ordered a ‘like new’ one from amazon, which means that mine will turn up in a day or two. But worse than not finding music you know you have is not being able to find music you want.
The Catholics Are Attacking by Pop-O-Pies. Searched iTunes for the title, and it’s not there. Every Day’s A Holiday is a song I started a thread about not that long ago. The maddening thing about that one is that I can’t remember who did it. The title shows up on an iTunes search, but it’s not the same song. iTunes has some oldie by the same name. At least I have that one; but it’s on vinyl and packed away in the storage unit somewhere.
I forgot to mention that Jacqueline, the song, is only slightly related. With the lyrics “everythings better on holiday” I figure there might be a 5% chance that you are remembering it wrong. Sorry for the confusion.
Went down to the beach and smoked some ‘sense’
Everybody laughed 'cause I knew what it meant
Every day’s a holiday!
Every day’s a holiday!
Every day’s a holiday!
Every day’s a holi-day-YAY-yay!
…
And night time’s a party too.
Basically, it’s about a (British) guy who’s unemployed and spends his days hanging out with friends.
Jazz Butcher’s single collection, which indluded Peter Lorre, was released in 1986 though.
As for Pop O Pies, all I can find is that recently released anthology. You probably are already aware that their records are far and expensive inbetween, considering they are almost collectors items now.
I did find an Mp3, that states it is free and kosher to download. I’ll indirectly post the link, as it does contain information about the band’s record as well, and leave it up for a mod to decide just in case. Google hits.
Thanks for the ‘hint’! Almost 6meg is a long download, but I’ve been looking for it for 20 years!
As for Mordred; no, that’s not it. I’ll have to dig out the album one of these days, and transfer it. I think that’s the only solution.
Anyway…
When I started this thread, I thought people might post songs they couldn’t find. Sort of like: ‘I couldn’t find these. What have you been looking for?’
