Son of "Things I want From the Movies"

BBCAmerica is playing The Man With The Golden Gun this evening. If I ever win the lottery, I’m buying Scaramanga’s junk.

Gods, you people are sick. This junk, perverts. Outfitted the way it was in the movie.

What piece of real-world movie stuff would you like to claim as your own? Remember, it doesn’t have super-powers here, so no Green Lantern rings or shit like that.

I would like to buy the loft in the movie Year of the Dragon. Not only is it an awesome place to live (with a hot tub right in the middle of the living area) but there is an eye-popping view, looking out on a NYC bridge over the river. (I am assuming planes, trains, and automobiles can’t look IN to my loft.)

I want all of Eowyn’s dresses from the Lord of the Rings films. So purdy.

I also want Belle’s library from Beauty and the Beast. Only problem is that there’s no way in hell I’d be able to read all those books in one lifetime.

I want an un-overpopulated LA with orange groves and streetcars from the Mack Sennett movies.

Well, I want Mr Darcy’s estate from BBC’s Pride and Prejudice.

Rose’s wardrobe from Titanic, and the Heart of the Ocean.
Padme’s wardrobe from Attack of the Clones ANd most of Revenge of the Sith.

Mace Windu’s purple lightsaber.

Bag End. Scaled up to human size so I don’t bump my head.

The Bat-suit from Batman Begins.

The “Evenstar” from LOTR.

Theoden’s body armor, Eomer’s helm, Sting, and Strider’s sword from LotR. Those are my favorite pieces out of the equipment they made for the film. None of them have good replicas available. The licensed copies of the weapons are basically pot-metal sword-shaped objects, and none of the available non-licensed weapons are quite right.

Indiana Jones’ hat, jacket, and bag are obtainable, in relatively affordable replica form. I may get those someday. A friend has a lightsaber replica from Parks Sabers; it’s very nice, but I’m not quite geeky enough to buy one. Ditto the Spartan armor from Halo, which is available in very expensive replicas.

This.

And this is exactly what I was coming to post.

Oh, lots. A spiffy Starfleet-issue field jacket from Star Trek II, Deckard’s and Batty’s trenchcoats from Blade Runner, a working stillsuit and an .88 Magnum (it shoots through schools).

Oh, and Gatling guns under my front quarter-panels as per Batman (1989).

And I was going to say this. I guess I’m just the suave type.
