Son, you ain't got no pants

The things I miss out on living in a superteranian city

Is this a real thing? It’s ABC news site, and no where near April 1st, Did anybody go bare drawers on the Subway yesterday?

Of course. The no pants subway ride is quite famous, and has been going on for a number of years. It has now spread as far as Vancouver BC.

I’m fully dressed and freezing my arse off at work. While I find the idea whimsical and charming, ain’t no way in hell I’m chillin’ my vittles in this weather.

And of course the picture they show is of someone who should wear pants at all times.

I guess you didn’t click through the slideshow.

Yeah, I loved the guy with the briefcase, black knee socks and superman underwear.

Well, ever since the Planet sold out to the Sun and the phone company started taking out all the pay phones, he’s been kind of at loose ends.

If you want to meet women, you should start wearing pants.

Real and moronic. I saw a couple of people doing it yesterday. It probably goes without saying they all looked to be college-age.

Nothing worse than observing fun-loving and attractive, college-age kids in their underpants on the way to work. God, that must suck. I’m so sorry you had to see that.

I love the pictures of people taking off their pants. I want to believe that were just random passers-by who initially had no intention of participating, and then went, “Oh, okay then; underpants it is.”

When did this start? I saw a couple pix of pantsless people riding BART in San Francisco, and I’d never heard of it until yesterday.

Apparently, this is the 12th year.

The group that organizes the No Pants Subway Ride is Improv Everywhere. Although I haven’t looked, I’m sure that you can find some information as to the history of the Ride on their website.

They do a lot more than that though–check out some of their other pranks. I rather like the Carousel Horse Race, the Mini Golf Open, and their surprise musicals.

Ah, dang. I wish I’d seen something like that. When you go onto Improv Everywhere’s web page, they show some pictures from the ride. One is from a couple old enough to be my parents. Love it!

I have come to believe that for a large chunk of the male population, pants are a completely societal pressure and the moment they get the slightest idea that no one will mace them for depantsing, they relieve themselves of the khaki menace. Mind you, I don’t necessarily object.

I didn’t say they were attractive (most of them looked like douchebags), and nobody was going to work. It was Sunday afternoon and they weren’t wearing pants.

You should never participate in the No-Pants Subway ride, because then everyone could plainly see the stick up your ass.

Adding a smiley isn’t enough to make this “not an insult.” Don’t do this again.

No warning issued.

I’ve read about Improv Everywhere and this particular happening before and think this is hysterical.
Also, if I lived somewhere with a subway, I’d probably participate just to show that middle-aged, gray-haired people were up for it.
I was all for the World Naked Bike Ride in Detroit a few years ago (along with the guy I was dating at the time) but it got cancelled. Boo.
