When I was in London recently, I heard this song a lot on the radio, but I never managed to catch the title, the artist or indeed most of the lyrics. It wasn’t even a recent song, the fact that I heard it on three different London radio stations in the space of one day either makes some comment on the lack of originality in pop culture or else hints at some dreadful conspiracy. Either way whether it was the repetition or not I can’t stop singing it even weeks later.
Unfortunately I am slightly hampered by the fact that I only know one line which goes “I blame you for the moonlit sky…” Singing this one line for four weeks is driving me nuts. Can anyone help me by telling me the name of the song or the artist who sings it so that I can buy/download it, play it 20 times and get it out of my system?!!
I blame you for the moonlit sky
and the dream that died
with the eagle’s flight
I blame you for the moonlit nights
when I wonder why
are the seas still dry?
Don’t blame this sleeping satellite
Did we fly to the moon too soon?
Did we squander the chance?
In the rush of the race
in the reason we chase is lost in romance
and still we try
to justify the waste
for a taste of mans greatest adventure.
Have we got what it takes to advance?
Did we peak too soon?
If the world is so green
then why does it scream under a blue moon?
We wonder why
the earth’s sacrificed
for the price of its greatest treasure
Did we fly to the moon too soon?
Did we squander the chance?
In the rush of the race
in the reason we chase is lost in romance
and still we try
to justify the waste
for a taste of mans greatest adventure.
And when we shoot for the stars
what a giant step
have we got what it takes
to carry the weight of this concept?
Or pass it by
like a shot in the dark
miss the mark with a sense of adventure
Did we fly to the moon too soon?
Did we squander the chance?
In the rush of the race
in the reason we chase is lost in romance
and still we try
to justify the waste
for a taste of mans greatest adventure.

Yeah, thanks. I tried a google search after the message board. Before that I’d been stuffing around with song title search engines which weren’t very helpful!
