Song Ideas

A friend of mine is putting together a photo montage for her husband’s 40th birthday. She has all the pictures ready and wants to start but she’s at a loss for the background music. Her husband prefers bluegrass / americana music but he also listens to jazz, rap, alternative 80s, and reggae - so pretty much ecclectic taste in music.

Any suggestions?

Oh, I think this is in the wrong forum. :smack: Could a mod please move it to Cafe for me? Thanks!

Some Nitty Gritty Dirt Band for sure…that’s great bluegrass!

Some Bela Fleck will hit both the bluegrass and jazz points.

For sappy, go for Mary-Chapin Carpenter’s version “Grow Old With Me”.
Hothouse Flowers “The Older We Get”.
Cat Stevens “Child for a Day” for the kid pix.

Steve Earle has a duet with his wife that would be lovely for this. Preview it here:
Days Aren’t Long Enough

Sample lyrics:

If the music is accompanying a photo montage of his life, why not play music from the time the photos were taken … period pieces from the years of his life.

Ding! We have a winner!!

Apparently he is a huge Steve Earle fan - she even walked down the aisle to a string trio playing his song Galway Girl.

Thank you!!!

Sweet!
