Song "In the Street"/"Dancing in the Street"

Who recorded this? Lively dancing song from the sixties; included lyric like:
Philadelphia P.A. …
Every guy, grab a girl…

Thanx

Dancing In The Street
Martha and The Vandellas

I seems to have been covered by a lot of others since then. I have a 45 with Mick Jaggers and David Bowie singing it too.

The Mamas and the Papas covered this Martha Reeves classic as well.

Also: the Mamas & the Papas, who performed it at Monterey Pop

And it was a staple at Grateful Dead shows for years and years…

Also covered by van Halen (DLR, NOT Sammy)

Although lots of people covered it, IMO no-one ever captured the energy and joy of the original recording by Martha and the Vandellas.

Thanks to all.
I can’t imagine Mick Jagger and David Bowie doing this, or anything else, together; any space would seem to me to be too small for those two big egos…

Seems I remember this version being tied in with Live Aid. I know they played the video at the concert.
