Song Lyrics question (sort of folky)

I’ve started having fun with Napster. (I’m Hamsterbert) and a song that I want to find has a refrain as follows;

“in your daughters and your sons
your daughters and your sons
you sowed the seeds of freedom
in your daughters and your sons”

A guy I used to know sang it sometimes, it but I don’t have his e-mail address, and I expect he’ll be somewhere between work, pub and unpredictable location thereafter. (It’s Friday evening here.)

I’ve looked at a couple of song lyrics sites, but no joy. If anyone is able to suggest title of song, or name of anyone who recorded it, I’d be really grateful. It is likely to be by someone known for socially conscious/protest folk songs, and I’ll probably kick myself if some kind Doper answers with a name that I should have known all along.

Anyone have any ideas, please?

Ha! Kick kick kick! Many thanks,Shiva That is is sung by Dick Gaughan (and Tommy Sands for lyrics) is indeed something I should have know all along. Well, I seem to have a dreadful memory, but maybe some skills at prediction. I am truly a moron, but at least now I am a happy (and grateful) moron.:slight_smile:
