Neither do I! I have done some research in the past and still haven’t found the original recording or who did it in the first place.
Here is video from one of the two composers of the song, Walter Egan, where he talks about how Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris came to record it. I can find no record of The Flying Burrito Brothers having recorded it. The other composer is Tom Guidera.
