Not a good choice, but a choice: Scorpions "Wind of Change.

/Wanders off whistling like in that insipid song.

My name is gigi, and I love “Winds of Change”.

“A Mighty Wind” from the epynomous movie.

“Wild as the Wind Is” Garth Brooks (and Trisha Yearwood on the live version)

Has anyone done a version of “Down in the Valley” (hang your head over, hear the wind blow)?

Bon Jovi has a “Wild is the Wind” but I don’t recall if it’s any good.

Juts to be clear, Annie-Xmas a

oops - And I were whistling down differnt winds. Hear ‘mine’ here .

And after all this I get the best one, Gram Parsons Hickory Wind by BR549 - its a really lovely piece of music.

Gee, I wonder what brought that to mind for you? (Perhaps in honor of my cousin’s past I should include “she wore a very special necklace” song as a lagniappe.)

To get that synth-driven 80s vibe onto the CD mix, you could do worse than Reap the Wild Wind by Ultravox.

Greg Brown sings a beautiful song called Spring Wind. You can here a sample of it here (that’s straight from his web site, all nice and legal). That version is good, but there’s a live recording available that’s even better.

Warren Zevon’s Hasten Down the Wind

Black Throated Wind by the Grateful Dead

Summer Wind by Lyle Lovett

paulmarkj beat me to “I Talk to the Wind.”

Essra Mohawk: “I Am the Breeze” (“I can go anywhere/Yes, even there”)
Mothers of Invention: “Any Way the Wind Blows”
Jethro Tull: “Cold Wind to Valhalla”

Southern Cross. I like the Crosby, Stills, Young version but I hear Jimmy Buffett has one too.

Before launching a long career in country music, Jerry Jeff Walker was in the band Circus Maximus and released the song “Wind” (.wma sample) on their self-entitled debut album. It was a turntable hit on FM progressive radio stations of that era and is one of those folksy/psychedelic +/-8:00 minute tracks people either hate or enjoy.

“Wind Chimes” - either the old Beach Boys version from Smiley Smile or the Brian Wilson Smile version

“Because of the Wind,” Joe Ely

sotto voce Actually, I think that song is about dust.

How about The Long and Winding Road?

What? So I’ve only ever seen it written down…

  • Winds of Change by Jefferson Starship (not the same as the one by the Scorpions)
  • Chilly Winds by the Kingston Trio (written by Papa John Philips)

Ooo! Seconded! I love that song.

Here are about 40 more from my iPod file that haven’t been mentioned yet. They’re in chronological order and I’d imagine a 60 year-old would be more inclined to like the tracks at the beginning of the list.
