Grateful Dead: “Easy Wind”
The Breeze and I composed by Ernesto Lecuona who wrote Malaguena, and recorded by many singers and orchestras, most memorably for me by Caterina Valente in the late 50’s. Both tunes are from a suite called Andalucia.
“Ill Wind”, a Harold Arlen song performed by various artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra, etc.
You simply must include the “I Hear The Wind Blow” segment from “Fingertips” (They Might Be Giants, on the album Apollo 18).
“Any Way the Wind Blows,” by Frank Zappa.
Did anyone yet mention “Catch the Wind” by Donovan?
Then there’s lyrics from “the Ballad of You & Me & Pooneil” by Jefferson Airplane:
f you were a bird and you lived very high,
knew even the wind as the breeze came by,
say to the wind as it took you away,
That’s where I wanted to go today
I agree, now that you mention it.
Caribbean Wind, Dylan again.
Neil Young - "Like a Hurricane"
I want to love you but
I’m getting blown away…
He covered that? I did not know that. The original by Ian Tyson is a classic of Canadian folk music.
All I can think of, at the moment, that hasn’t been mentioned, would be Tilly and the Wall - Ice Storm, Big Gust, and You (Free/Legal, from the record label’s site)
