Songs identifiable from two or three words

On another forum there’s a thread where you’re supposed to only post one, two, or three words. In that thread somebody posted “We can dance” which of course reminded me of the song Safety Dance.

So I’ve been wondering now, what songs can be identified by the first two or three words of the opening lyrics? Besides we can dance, I can think of:

Hey Jude
Wake up Maggie

And there was one from the 80’s I forget now. But anyway, what are your entries?

Hey Joe

Truckin’

Louie Louie

I hate to ask but, what song is that from?

I presume we’re discounting songs which start with the chorus or title? 'Cos that’s kind of cheating…

My entries:

The Missisippi Delta

Some say Love

Mama, just killed

Young teacher

Just a castaway

(I don’t know this "truckin’ one either…)

Truckin’.

Strangers… (mind you, if you need someone to start singing before you recognize Strangers in the Night, either you’re having a brainfart or their musicians play like a brick wall).

That is a spot-on suggestion. I can’t read those words without seguing into the first verse.

I also can’t hear “Hey!” without appending

… Said the man to the lady

Jeremiah was a

Hello darkness my

I got chills

A lovestruck Romeo

Hey! Teacher!

Shouldn’t that be “we don’t need”?

A long, long

It’s Britney, bitch

Anyone know these? I tried to make them not-too-easy but not impossible:

(all considered classic rock)

  1. We’re so sorry…

  2. I was born…

  3. She grew up…

  4. They pulled in…

  5. We’ll be fighting…

  6. Lights out tonight…

  7. With a purple…

  8. Well, it’s eight…

  9. Just got home…

  10. Lines form on…
