Songs that always make you wanna dance

well there’s different styles and types of dancing, but all of these make me feel like dancing in different ways:

“Ray of Light” - Madonna

“Hips don’t lie” / “La Tortura” - Shakira

“I Understand It” - Idlewild

“Dairy Queen”, “Yield” - Indigo Girls

“New Slang” - The Shins

“Shout” - Isley Brothers

various standards - Village People

“You are the light” - Innocence Mission

“With a girl like you” - The Troggs

“Chocolate” - Snow Patrol

and the number one gets me up and going in a good mood dancing song:

“Brimful of Asha” - Fatboy Slim (Cornershop)

I too thought this thread would be about dance music. But I just might listen to dance music again if it’s changed radically in the past 2 years, as in 2001-2004 (when I stopped listening) trance music absolutely didn’t make me want to dance. It wasn’t bad as a background music, and I liked the production and samples, but they never changed on the 1, so it was undancable.

“Do Your Thing” by Basement Jaxx, it’s playing in an ad for Rattatouile and I have to resist the urge to jump up for all of the 5 seconds it’s on the air.

"Neutron Dance " by The Pointer Sisters

and some of the others already mentioned here.

Yeh, Miller, the Isleys…
One of my favorites is “Public Jitterbug Number One” by Betty Hutton. Two minutes of teenage ecstasy.

And if “it has a good beat and you can dance to it” is all that matters, then Lead Belly has several danceables like “Green Corn”, “Gallis Pole”, “Scottsboro Boys”…

I got my probation from the Federal Bureau of Syncopation.

“Late Summer Fields” - Solarstone & Alucard

Or Daft Punk live (who I saw last night…mind blowing!).
