Song You Can't Resist Dancing To

You know, the song that if you hear it at the club, you’re on the dance floor. If it plays on the radio, you’re dancing while driving. Name the songs that you HAVE to dance to…

My Personal List

  1. Rump Shaker by Wreckx-N-Effect
  2. Can I Get A…by Jay-Z
  3. Hi Opal!
  4. Party Up by DMX
  5. I Get Around by Tupac
  6. I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick
  7. Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC
  8. Superfreak by Rick James
  9. You Spin Me Round by Dead or Alive
  10. Nuthin But a G Thang by Dr Dre

Fatboy Slim’s remix of Steppenwolfs Magic Carpet Ride. Before that it was Mambo #5 by Lou Bega

*“String of Pearls” by Glenn Miller(or any swing music)

*Many pieces of Ragtime

*Many songs by Placebo(i.e. “Bruise Pristine”, “Special K”, “36 Degrees”, “Pure Morning”) Okay it’s not quite ‘dance’ material, but if I can move to it, it suits me. I don’t dance right, anyway.

*A lot of Duran Duran songs, new and old

*Same as above for many U2 songs. Listening to the “Best of” album could give me arthritis of the knees.

*Orgy makes me want to dance, too.

~Heck, why don’t you just come over to my house so that you can see my CDs. That way you can see what you(or I) can’t dance to.

THE TIME WARP!!!

I’m doing it now!

It’s just a jump to the left -
Now a step to the right…

“Billie Jean” - Michael Jackson

“Start Me Up” - the Stones

soo soo many songs…i guess i’ll have to narrow it down to my top 10:
Depeche Mode-Master and Servant, People are People, and Personal Jesus.
Prodigy-Vodoo People, Smack my Bitch up, and Fire
NIN-Sin, Head Like a Hole, Closer and Perfect Drug
FeindFlug-Rotre Schnei, Stukas Im Vieser

Isn’t that by Crystal Method?

You’ll catch me getting jiggy to insidiously catchy tunes such as:

Soul Bossanova (the theme to Austin Power)
Hippy Hippy Shake
Bodyrock - Moby
Dancing Queen - Abba (gulp)
Boom, Boom, Shake the Room - Will Smith

and for a little slow dancing:

Saturday Night - Suede
Avalon - Roxy Music
the Habenera from Bizet’s Carmen

OOPS! Fat Boy Slim did a version too! Sorry about that.

I’m just a big fat moron, it’s OK, I think I need more beer,

But I have to agree with Halbe on the Skinny Puppy and the Depeche Mode.
But I must add Sexy Muthafucka by Prince and anything by Curve.

Hmm…well, I’d say “Any Way You Want It” by Journey would be one of the top songs.
There’s a lot of other songs, but that’s one that I hear and it just gets me in a dancin’ mood.

Rock Lobster. Just try to sit still.

Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) by C&C Music Factory.

I dare ya not to dance to that!

Jeg elsker dig, Thomas

Mr. Roboto by Styx and Material Girl by Madonna.

Renegade Master by Wildchild
Moondance by Van Morrison
I Kiss You by Mahir (this song’s so incredibly poor that it’s fantastic :))
California Love by 2Pac (I believe)
The Riddle by Gigi Dagastino
Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson

Hell, I’ll get off my ass for almost anything; doesn’t take much effort.

Those songs are just about the only ones I’ll chair-dance to at work, though… if the DJ’s shufflin’ around the room in a chair yowling along with the music, he likes the song something fierce.

Hot Hot Hot Buster Poindexter(?)
I will survive Gloria Gaynor
Time warp without a doubt
I wanna be sedated the Ramons
rock lobster B-52’s

I could go on but these are the first ones i thought of.

Pretty much the same as your list bandwise. My number one song for getting me on the dancefloor in milliseconds is Invincible Spirit´s Push, though. Suspirias Dancefloor Tragedy is pretty fun too.

/Andreas

Erm… well, it’s not really all that dancey, but the remix of Living Dead Girl - Rob Zombie always gets me up. Plus, hence the nick, I love that song.
