The best Gentlemen's Club songs, or

Help Me Get my SO to do a striptease for me!

Allright ladies and gents, I need your help. Don’t be shy. It’s okay. Even if you’ve never been to a Gentlemen’s club (a.k.a. titty bar, strip club, strip joint, nudie bar, nudie bar, etc.) it’s okay, because you can still probably think of some songs that make you feel sexy. Or some songs that you would want to see a hottie take all their clothes of to in a provocotive manner.

She’s already said she’d be down with this, and I would very much like to see this happen. Anyway, her only condition is that there be good music and I must pick and she must approve it. I know, we’re boring, but after a while you need to keep the romance rollin’, you know?

So, I’ve compiled a list of songs that would get my motor runnin’ if a girl (I don’t mean the doper A Girl, althought that would be cool, come to think of it…) were to get down to it.

Here’s the list so far:
[ul]
[li]Ragdoll, Aerosmith[/li][li]Let’s Get It On, Marvin Gaye[/li][li]Platinum, Orgy[/li][li]Freak Me, Silk[/li][li]Justify My Love, Madonna[/li][li]Trip Like I Do,Crystal Method featuring Filter[/li][li]Summertime (phat remix), Sublime feat. DJ Spooky[/li][li]A.D.I.D.A.S.(techno remix), KoRn, feat. Dose and Rob D[/li][li]Battleflag, Low Fidelity All-Stars, featuring Pigeonhead[/li][li]More Human Than Human, White Zombie[/li][li]I Sit On Acid (house mix), Lords of Acid[/li][li]Plush, Stone Temple Pilots[/li][li]Living Dead Girl, Rob Zombie[/li][/ul]
And of course, the number one, ultimate, quintessential Gentleman’s Club theme of all time:

You Shook Me All Night Long, AC/DC

So, not only am I interested in songs you could suggest, but I am also interested in what you think of this list. SO says that Platinum, Orgy is no good. That’s one of my favorites! So let me know.

Classic!

Don’t forget:

Closer by Nine Inch Nails

You Can Take Your Hat Off…this one was on the 9 1/2 weeks soundtrack, can’t remember who did it.

One of my personal faves is One by One by INXS, I believe it’s on Shabooh Shoobah, it’s perfect for stripping.

I don’t know the name of the song, but its lyrics include

Let me take off your coat, real real slow
Why don’t you take off your dress, yes, yes, yes
You can leave your hat on
You can leave your hat on

… or something like that. It’s a strip club cliche – not necessarily the best strip club song, but still something that’s payed so often in those places, it should at least get honorable mention on a list of “Best Gentlemen’s Club Song.”

The song everyone is trying to remember is You Can Leave Your Hat On and it’s by Joe Cocker. My very first thought, but I will likely think of more.

One step ahead of me Mr. Tree. The song is “Leave Your Hat On”, by the one and only Joe Cocker.

Far and away the best stripper song around.

Make that two steps ahead of me.

Beautiful. Keep 'em coming.

I guess it really is a tie between

You Can Leave Your Hat On, Joe Cocker
and
You Shook Me All Night Long, AC/DC

Like I said, keep them coming, because as soon as there is enough, I will post the revised list for future reference.

Phish does this cover of “Gin and Juice” (originally by Snoop Dogg), and I swear, it makes me wanna get naked. Not in a completely sexual sense, but in a fun, striptease kinda way.
Also, “Good Times, Bad Times” by Lep Zep, but I imagine “Whole Lotta Love” or “D’yer Mak’er” would be just as well.

The ultimate strip club song list has to include Girls, Girls, Girls by Motley Crue.

Okay, okay, okay! I thought of another one…

Hard to Handle, The Black Crowes

The part where he goes:

Hey-lil-thing-lemme-lite-chya-canda-cuza-mama-im’a-sho-har-ta-handa-naw, yesaroun

is just really cool.
PS. I know the actual lyrics, so thanks for the thought, but there be no need to post them.

Whitesnake - Slow and Easy
Sammy Hagar - Heavy Metal (not very stripper-like but to me at least the groove feels very sexy)
Triumph - Lay it on the Line
Ted Nugent - Stranglehold (another sexy slow beat)
Journey - Lovin’, Touchin’ Squeezin’
I’ll be back with more after I do the dishes…

BTW, BunnyPapa took me to an all nude bar for my B’day one time and the girl danced to the slower version of Sting’s “Roxanne”. Man, that was hot!

Yeah! Good call, mama!
And I thought of one more!

Rock the Cradle of Love, Billy Idol

Yeah, that song was made to stripped to.

“I Feel You” by Depeche Mode was pretty much made to be stripped to.

Also, “Love Spreads” by the Stone Roses.

I’m suprised that noone has mentioned “The Stripper”.

I used to play it in pep band in high school.

::looks around::

Is my age showing?

Well, maybe these are too obvious, but “I’m too Sexy” by Right-Said Fred and “You Sexy Thing” by Hot chocolate.

I also like “Need you tonight” by INXS.

I haven’t seen the movie, but perhaps something from the Full Monty soundtrack?

Oh and “Oh Yeah” by Yello.

Ok, now that I’ve had a moment to sit and think, how about…

Divinyls - I touch myself (oh, the possibilities…)
Wilson Pickett - Mustang Sally
The Firm - Satisfaction Guaranteed

Er, how long are you going to let this woman dance, anyhow?

Well, see Mama, the cool thing about strip songs is that they are generally good to do the hibbidy dibbidy to as well. So, I am sure it will start out with the striptease and will devolve (evolve?) into full-blown, crazy, sweaty, silly, tear-the-roof-off nookie.
Also, I am sure (or I sure am hoping) that this will take place more than once, so I will need a metric shitload of songs.

And one more thing:

HEY! I asked for a review of my original list to see if any of the songs got voted off. Don’t forget that last part, lest I be loathe to post the results of my escapade.

Some good calls in there … especially the Divinyls. =) I like the INXS (“Need You Tonight”), too.

But really, I’m posting because George Michael’s “Faith” just came on. That’s my vote!

Bonnie Raitt Something To Talk About
and several by Melissa Etheridge

Black Velvet, by Allana Myles (sp?). Perfect beat.

Besides that, I see Wilson Pickett has already been mentioned. Him, Percy Sledge, Sam & Dave, Marvin Gaye, all those guy - there all great for the tast at hand.

Oh, and Love is Strong, by the Stones.
