Songs that hit you right in the pelvis

Bowie, Bowie, and more Bowie!

When I was much younger, I used to get ready for a date by listening to “If I Fell” by the Beatles.

“Cherchez La Femme” by Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band.
“Ooh Ah, Just a Little Bit” by Gina G.

I’m the first one to mention Barry White?

Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, but possibly because of association with personal experience.

Trend? What trend would that be, m’dear?

Hush, you! You’ll blow my cover!

strolls away, whistling innocently

Just want to thank the OP for the link to Steelworker - I swear I haven’t heard that song in 15 years - and it’s just as fucking awesome as I remember it to be.

Oooh, Get Your Body Beat is a good one.

Almost everything by Assemblage 23.
Songs that inspire lust? Huh. Um. Cold- VNV Nation? But that’s just really vulgar dancing.

Amen.

I just downloaded a huge amount of Bowie…to make up for my albums that died in the fire. To bad you’re a dozen states away. You seem to be a chick, but if you’re a Bowie chick I’d totally do you anyway. Ya’know, just in the spirit of the '70’s.

Enigma…My GOD!

Jethro Tull - Under Wraps

Hey, me too! Also, there are a couple of pieces in one of Heinrich Schutz’s Christmas oratorios (oratori?) that have the same effect.

ARG! missed the edit window.
Have to add Depeche Mode - Master and Servant

Push It by Salt n Pepa
Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard

Seconded. There was a techno remix of O Fortuna that was very popular in Montreal goth clubs in the late 90s, which I frequently described as ‘the song that’s better than sex’. I luuuuuuuuurve dancing to that.

Ironically, the non-techno version of O Fortuna rocks so much more than the techno remix. I can totally see moshing to the fast parts.

Ry Cooder’s version of “All Shook Up.” My god, the way he does it, the song is primal. Be sure and crank it.

Most songs by 112: Anywhere, Can I Touch You, Peaches and Cream, Hot and Wet, Don’t Hate Me, etc., etc., etc.

I think it’s “Hide & Seek (Ready Or Not Here I Come)”

That was likely either Apotheosis or Apoptygma Berzerk.

For me, the songs that have really been getting me have been a number of tracks by Goldfrapp, particularly “Strict Machine”, “Twist”, “Ride a White Horse”, “Lovely 2 C U” and “Ooh La La”.

“Crazy on You” is possibly the sexiest rock song ever. “Magic Man” is nothing to sneeze at either (Even though I’m not entirely sure why he’s the magic man. Could be a drug dealer.) I also think there’s something really sexy about “Bitch” by Meredith Brooks.
