If you’re a child of the 80’s you might recognize the lead singer
Please Do Not Go by Violent Femmes because, I mean, come on…
I heard I’ll Take You There by the Staple Singers on SiriusXM today and caught myself playing air bass so I thought I’d revive this zombie, again.
Yes “Tempus Fugit”. I was air basing along as I was proofing the video. (Bonus: cheesy 80s Yes video. They had the worst video producers…)
I have a photo of me playing air base in my college air band. I had a replica of Entwhistle’s “spider” bass, though I’m not sure we were playing My GGGGeneration at the time.
I’d never noticed how much Trevor Horn could sing like John Anderson.

:smack: I searched for “Staple” but it wasn’t found. Oh well.
This is, of course, mandatory. And don’t forget Bassically as well.
Joe Jackson’s Steppin’ Out.
The best way to fill our house with music is from the turntable, so I made sure to pick up a used LP of Night & Day. It’s full of Air Bass, and Air Electric Piano.
The problem is, I often rock out while making dinner, and you do NOT want a Mandatory Air Bass song coming on while you’ve got a knife in your hand…
Yes x1,000 to that … but if I had to pick ONE Rush song for jammin’ on air bass, it’s "YYZ’', especially live versions [also great for air guitar AND air drums!]
The first four minutes of this video with Alex de Grassi (guitar) and Michael Manring (bass). Play it through good speakers, if you got ‘em, and let it roll. It takes a few seconds for them to settle into the groove. I see in the comments that the tune is titled “Homestyle,” from an album they did together.
