Dueling Banjos – Deliverance
All Over The World (ELO) – Paul
Born To Be Wild – Easy Rider
Wings Of A Dove (as sung by Crow & Tom Servo) – Boggy Creek II: and the Legend Continues (MST3K version)
Pipeline (Dick Dale & Stevie Ray Vaughn) – Back To The Beach
“Under Pressure” (Queen/David Bowie) pops up in a lot of films, but I always associate it with It’s Kind of a Funny Story (2010, with Zach Galifianikis and Emma Roberts).
Wasn’t Born To Follow - Easy Rider
We’ll Meet Again - Dr. Strangelove
9th Symphony - Clockwork Orange
The Look of Love - Casino Royale
Get Right Back -Slapshot
Songs associated in my mind to the following movies (since they’re where I first heard the songs, usually as closing themes):
Robby Williams; “Let Me Entertain You” - Mean Machine
The Seatbelts’ “Knock A Little Bit Louder” - Cowboy BeBop*
Rooster’s “Good To Be Here” - Operation Stormbreaker
The Greenhornes’ “Saying Goodbye” - The Green Hornet
Johnny Thunder’s “I’m Alive” - American Animals
As: for Caddy Shack, I always think first “Anyway You Want It” rather than “I’m Alright”, but personal taste I guess.
*So, Earth’s 1st Martian colony will look like early 1980s lower Manhattan, but with monorails. OK…
I’ve had a handful of friends that can’t listen to American Girl by Tom Petty because it reminds them of Silence Of The Lambs or Stuck In The Middle With You by Stealers Wheel because of Reservoir Dogs.
However, for me, any time I hear Night Ranger by Sister Christian, I can’t help but think of Boogie Nights.
If you haven’t seen the movie, it’s hard to understand how tension there was in this scene.
