Songs that make you think of a movie

I know that for me it seems like every time I hear certain songs it makes me think of a movie, or of just a certain scene in a certain movie. Anybody else have songs like that? I’ll start with two:

“Gloria” by Them always makes me think of the movie the “Outsiders” (since it plays in the very beginning of the movie)

and

“This Magic Moment” by Jay and the Americans always makes me think of the scene in the Sandlot when Squints puts the move on the lifegaurd. Classic scene…

Any more?

The Verve’s “Bitter Sweet Symphony” reminds me of Cruel Intentions, unfortunately.

‘I dont wanna miss a thing’ by Aerosmith reminds me of Armageddon, for obvious reasons.

‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo dolls and ‘Angel’ by Sarah Mclachlan. Both remind me of City of Angels.

‘Talk Show Host’ by Radiohead reminds me of Romeo and Juliet.

I could probably go on, but there all just songs released from OST’s so there fairly obvious really.

That Rachmaninoff thing from Somewhere inTime

Stuck in the Middle (Don’t remember the artist) - Resevior Dogs (and it makes me like the song more. ^__~)

Only Time (Enya) - Lord of the Rings ('cuz of the video)

“Draggin the Line” (I forget who by, but I think REM covered it at some point) makes me think of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead.

“Cruel Summer” by Bananarama (I think that’s the song) makes me think of Karate Kid.

**My Heart Will Go On[\b]

I think you know what movie i’m talking about.

AWWWW FUNK!! My first coding error in a looooooong time.

“Got Me Wrong” by Alice in Chains always reminds me of Clerks.

Similarly, “Jungle Love” reminds me of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Now that I think about it, I don’t seem to have many of these memories that aren’t Kevin Smith-related in some way.

That’s Stuck in the middle with you by Stealers Wheel (vocals by Gerry Rafferty of later Baker Street fame).

In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel.
I don’t even have to tell you the movie do I?

Say Anything

Bet 'cha knew it.

“Unchained Melody” and Ghost are forever inseperable to me. I can’t think of one without thinking of the other.

“Dude Looks Like a Lady” by Aerosmith makes me think of Mrs. Doubtfire.

“The Power of Love” by Huey Lewis and the News is virtually synonymous with Back to the Future.

Whenever I hear “Jingle Bell Rock” I don’t think of Christmas. Instead I think of the opening scene in Lethal Weapon.

“Laura” from Laura
“Moonglow” and “Theme From Picnic” from Picnic
“The Shadow Of Your Smile” from The Sandpiper
“The Long Hot Summer” from movie of same name
“In The Heat Of The Night” from movie of same name
“My Funny Valentine” from Sharky’s Machine (occasionally I’ll also think of Pal Joey)

Sadly, I will forever associate “Singin’ in the Rain” with A Clockwork Orange

DeBarge’s “Rhythm of the Night” takes me back to watching The Last Dragon.

Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give it Up” is now connected to Charlie’s Angels in my brain.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” is clearly and directly associated with Wayne’s World

“Let It Snow” makes me think of Die Hard and Die Hard 2, my two favorite Christmas movies.

(I Would Walk) 500 Miles and Benny and Joon.

That song makes me think of Home Alone.

“Lollipop”, from a scene in “Stand By Me”
“Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, from “The Execution of Private Slovak”
“Rudolf, The Red Nosed Reindeer” on tuba, from “Christmas Vacation”. “Shitter’s full!”
