Songs where the title does not appear in the lyrics.

While we are on the subject of Pink Floyd (ignoring instrumentals):

Astronomy Domine
Matilda Mother (mother is mentioned)
Take Up Thy Stethoscope and Walk
Chapter 24
Let There Be More Light
Jugband Blues
Ibiza Bar
Grantchester Meadows
A Pillow of Winds
Fearless (though fearlessly is mentioned)
The Gold It’s In The…
Free Four
Brain Damage
Dogs
Sheep (although lamb cutlets are mentioned)
In The Flesh?
The Happiest Days of Our Lives
Young Lust
In The Flesh
The Trial
Embryo
Poles Apart

Quite a lot!

As a completist, there are two more I forgot to mention:

Paint Box
Summer of '68

(In memory of Richard Wright).

The Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back” almost qualifies. It’s only during the fade-out that Michael shouts “I want you back!” (Does it count as lyrics if it’s not sung?)

“Revival” by the Allman Brothers (“People can you feel it/Love is everywhere”)
“Fugue for Tinhorns” from Guys and Dolls (“I got the horse right here, his name is Paul Revere…”)

“One, two, FREE FOUR!

“I want you back” is sung repeatedly by the other Jacksons.

Neither do “The Analog Kid” or “Witch Hunt” or “2112” or “Distant Early Warning” or “Entre Nous” or . . .

“Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town” by Pearl Jam, also not in the song.

Dakota, by the Stereophonics.

I guess I can add an entry to the “things you didn’t notice the first million times” thread. You are right that “I want you back” is sung as part of the backing vocals, but I swear I’ve never noticed that before.

Number Nine . . . Number Nine . . . Number Nine . . . Number Nine . . .

The entire album “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out” by Panic! At the Disco.

Additional trivia - the song names are also taken from other sources.

The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide Is Press Coverage - a quote from Palahniuk’s “Survivor”
I Write Sins Not Tragedies - a quote from Coupland’s “Shampoo Planet”
London Beckoned Songs About Money Written by Machines - a quote from Coupland’s “Shampoo Planet”
Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off - a quote from the movie Closer
I Constantly Thank God for Esteban - A quote from The Life Aquatic
Build God, Then We’ll Talk - a quote from Palahniuk’s “Choke”

So I’ll go with other Pink Floyd songs (that have lyrics). From Dark Side of the Moon,it’s just Brain Damage.

From Animals, there’s Sheep. And Dogs (there’s “Dog” in Sheep, but not in Dogs!).

From The Wall, there’s In The Flesh. One of My Turns.

One of my favorites from The Final Cut, **The Gunner’s Dream ** (there is the word Gunner).

Somehow (my stupidity - though I thought I’d done a search) I missed this post. Sorry, NineToTheSky

"And I feel/ one of my turns coming on/ and I feel/ cold as a razor blade/ tight as a tourniquet/ dry as a funeral drum

D’oh!

I am just gonna go with The Who’s Quadrophenia.

I am the Sea - Daltrey sings four song titles, but not this one!
The Punk Meets the Godfather (GGGGG-g-g-g-g generation.) That bit is really subtle - almost unaudible. I dunno what Peter Townhend is singing through. Perhaps that’s a good candidate for the thread about songs that mention other songs. But damn, I really want to hear that song played loud. Love Entwistles bass. The whole album.
The Dirty Jobs
**Helpless Dancer **(Daltrey sings those words in the opening song - along with The Real Me, Bell Boy and Love Reign O’er me - but those songs do include the title)
Drowned

One of the greatest albums ever.

I have left out another Pink Floyd song: High Hopes.

I have ignored The Final Cut as I see that as a Roger Waters solo album. I know Roger sees Momentary Lapse of Reason as a David Gilmour solo album, but he is wrong, and a very grumpy old man as well.

Entre Nous is French for Between us so in a way it does say it.

One of my favourites of all time, and very under appreciated IMHO.

All that’s being sung in the quiet spot is"My my my my my gggggg-generation." At least that’s all I ever made out of it.

“Annie’s Song,” by John Denver.
