Songs with an insanely catchy beat

Which reminds me of this one…

Corey Hart - “Sunglasses at Night”.

I was going to nominate Blue Rondo Alla Turk but your pick is better.

My wife absolutely hates when I play Silly Wizard’s “Donald MacGillavry”:

The tune and beat get stuck in her head, and she can’t help singing it. But because it’s in impenetrable (to her) Scots, literally the only lyric she understands is “Donald MacGillavry”. So firing this up always earns me a dirty look.

She hates when I try to sing it, as well, but for completely different reasons.

Balls out by the Bloodhound Gang

For an old fart, Henry Mancini had a talent for infectiously booty shakin’ music and one of my all time favorites is the “Peter Gunn Theme.” I have about fourteen different versions of the song by all kinds of different musicians and it’s danceable no matter what. I’m pretty fond of this one though, Jeff Beck AND Trombone Shorty? *fans self*

And no matter what you think of it overall, “Walk Like An Egyptian” is extremely catchy:

Herbie Hancock – Rockit

Top this: Amadou & Mariam - Senegal Fast-food

(or at least admit it’s awfully good!)

Foster The People - Helena Beat

I always found it catchy:

A really early Who video:

Good one. Also, Cantaloupe Island

And it’s updated counterpart, Cantaloop

Streets of Philadelphia - Bruce Springsteen
