Songs with good jams

Some friends and I plan to put put together some songs together. Does anyone know some songs that have good jams at the end of the song?

Thanks

I know a good forum to put this question is called IMHO…

Well, IMHO (hint, hint), if a song with a good jam at the beginning is acceptable, you can’t do much better than Led Zepplin’s The Song Remains the Same. You could start out with a song with a good trailing jam, segue into the intro to TSRtS, and go from there.

“That’s the Way”, on Led Zeppelin III (IMHO this is their best song)
“Layla,” Derek and the Dominoes
“Cinema Show/Aisle of Plenty,” by Genesis, on Selling England by the Pound (1973) (IMHO their best instrumental ending)
“Lie in our Graves,” Dave Matthews Band, on Crash (just listened to this one in my car!)
“Jacob’s Ladder”, Rush, on Permanent Waves
“Two Suns in the Sunset”, Pink Floyd, on The Final Cut (short, but good)
“Revival”, Allman Brothers, consider this one a whole-song jam with some incidental lyrics…

Also: I’m no expert on this, but try listening to some live Grateful Dead.

Punoqllads, your post inspired me to dig out my Houses of the Holy CD and play The Song Remains the Same. That was the first song I put on the air when I was a DJ at my college radio station ten years ago, and I chose it because of the way the opening just grabs you and drags you away. It’s been way too long since I listened to it!

The album version of Uncertain smile by The The - awesome. July morning by Uriah Heep also comes to mind.

Lord, I was born a ramblin’ man
Off to IMHO, livin’ the best I can…
