songs with "la la la" in them

Oh, all right.

The Residents have a song called “La La” on The Commercial Album. It’s very short (as are all the tracks thereon) and the lyrics are all “la la (etc.)”.

As for Jersey Girl as previously mentioned, Holly Cole has a good version of it on her Temptation CD.

And of course there’s the Teletubbies theme – “Tinky Winky! Dipsy! La La! Po!”

La la Means I Love You, Todd Rundgren’s version.

I la la la love you by Pat Travers. Great fucking song.

Heywood Banks (I think) has a funny song called “Dead Guys”:

"I am older than a lot of famous dead guys,
A lot of famous dead guys
Didn’t live as long as me…

La la la la la-la-la la la la lahhhh…"

…there’s “Largo al factotum” from The Barber of Seville (although some of the passages are actually “La ran la”).

A Long December by Counting Crows

Mister Jones by Counting Crows (the opening part…which is pretty much just like Brown-Eyed Girl)

I only vaguely remember the Banana Splits, but I did grow up watching Sesame Street. With all the Muppet fans around here, why is it that I’m the first one to mention Sing? Some versions of Joe South’s Games People Play has “And you don’t give a la duh da duh da.” instead of “And you don’t give a damn.” It appears Dolly recorded a version missing that part of the verse but has additional la-las in the chorus.

How about “Song for a Future Generation” by the B-52’s, its got a whole verse of la la lalala. And now its stuck in my head.

Ohhh…there go those 50 points again! Only the Weird Al parody has the phrase “La la la” in it…the original lyrics are in Spanish and go something like

“Para bailar la Bamba,
Para bailar la Bamba
Se necisita una poco de gracia…”

No multiple "la"s in a row in the entire song.

Vision Thing by The Sisters of Mercy

Another batch of “agressive” sha-la-la-las tucked back between the closing choruses.

“Me and Bobby McGee” by Janis Joplin

Does “Doe, a deer” from The Sound of Music count? “La, a note to follow sew”

Many many lonely nights go by, I sit at home alone and I cry over you. What can I do. Don’t want no one else cause “Baby It’s you” by the Shirelles, also redone by the Beatles.

She’s a Rainbow by the Rolling Stones

There’s a lot of Bérurier Noir songs with la la la in them. One example is Vivre libre ou mourir. I must warn you that some of their lyrics can be pretty gruesome. Great music, though!
