That was a slightly re-written cover of Roaring Lion’s Ugly Woman.
It has also been covered by Robert Mitchum, and by a singer known as The Charmer (who later joined the Nation of Islam and changed his name to Louis Farrakhan).
A staple of adult contemporary FM at a time when my parents wouldn’t let me change the radio dial while I was riding: “You’re the Only Woman” by Ambrosia.
Browsing the wikipedia article to refresh my memory, I noticed they had a previous single “Can’t Let A Woman”.
Also, Bruce Hornsby once was part of the group, which was a complete shocker to me.
