I think the braces make Carrie endearing, but she’s going to be a very beautiful girl without them, no doubt.
The one line that had me cracking up the most was “its going to be an explosive Easter”
oh, Whitey.

According to Fred Goss, she’s getting the braces off this summer. If the show gets another season we’ll get to see and hear her without the cumbersome metal.
I second being smitten by Cameron’s wife. She’s a hotty.
I find that, because this show doesn’t always go for constant horselaughs, you don’t get the feeling you’re watching an inferior episode if you’re not laughing your head off. It gives the drama moments more time to breathe. It’s interesting to watch the dynamic, the fluidity of the storyline.
That said, Whitey’s whole “explosive Easter” bit was hilarious.
Cover much ground much?
Man, that was a lot for an hour. We went from Cameron crashing a house party thrown by his nephew, then to Liz and Jenna getting drunk listening to two old bitty (lebians) tell stories from way back. Then Whitey getting and loosing a job (again) Cameron getting punched in the head and bonding with his son.
The next show we have Liz brushing her teeth and turning Cam on with a mouth full of toothpaste (the second reference to oral activity in two weeks), Whitey dating a stripper then getting close to Jen again, Merv (or Perv, Melv, Mel, Melvin, Mervis, etc.), Cameron and Sharon’s old man retuning after a lifelong away from them and then dying on the couch. I thought Sharon had some great acting in a few scenes, rather toughing it was. Cameron and Sharon had some pretty good brother and sister exchanges.
The end of that show was pretty good with Sharon and Cameron sitting next to each other in the auditorium looking at Merv’s skeleton and Sharon saying, “At least someone in the family is going to college.”
Some points to ponder;
I think Don is impotent.
Jen and Whitey will probably get back together in some fashion.
Lesbionics is a new word.
Don’t brush your teeth in front of Cameron, ever.
Wendall is pretty cool.
Henry finally got some action, from a freaky chick no less.
Sharon has a dirty sheet fetish.
I’d like to party with Whitey.
Cameron too.
Liz, ditto, and Jenna.
Cameron of Liz, “That’s my wife, I hit that everyday, well maybe not everyday, more like everyother day, or biweekly, more like once a week.” Party guy, “There is hope for the underdog.”
Jesus Christ, I’m watching Boston Legal right now (great episode by the way) and I just saw a Priest get his fingers chopped off with a fire axe!!
Anyway, more comments or quotes from Sons and Daughters please…
Those were a couple of really great episodes, especially the first one. Liz and Jenna doing “lesbionic” shots was a scream. Too fucking funny. And the toothpaste thing had me rolling, too.
Funny thing about Whitey: he’s exactly the sort of jerk-off guy I find really off-putting in real life, but I can’t help enjoying that character and his antics.
And the skeleton gag was a perfect ending to that episode.
Wojo is again on my list of the coolest men in the country.
Sounds like bad news for the few of us who are watching this show: according to a column in the SF Chroncle this show may be dead. It was good while it lasted.
The first episode of the night was amazing, and the second was rock solid. It’s infortunate that the show is doomed, but that’s okay. It is great while it lasts.
I will definitely be checking out that new Tom Cavanaugh show if only to continue to pine for the actress who plays Liz. I’m in the same boat as the author of the linked article.
What’s really sad is that watching that scene with the toothpaste in her mouth I thought to myself “damn that’s hot.” Not two seconds later Cameron mentions that he’s oddly aroused by it. So at least I’m not crazy.
The only real regret I have with the show being cancelled is that I was looking forward to seeing the niece after she got her braces off. Oh well, I’m sure she’ll turn up somewhere.
One final thought that I keep forgetting to mention: Even if I hated the show, all those Grateful Dead songs would bias me in favor of it.
It’s just so good. sigh
Yeah, I hope we see a lot of the cast members turning up all over the dial. They did some really nice work.
I already checked next week’s schedule, and S & D isn’t even on the schedule, so Tuesday’s shows seem to be the “finale,” unless there’s an episode or two in the can. Even if there is another episode, it will probably only see the light of day on a DVD release. Ah, well, c’est la vie.
So, they’re cancelling this, but Hope and Faith and About Jim have both been on for years? W.T.F.
Makes you want to gouge your eyes out, doesn’t it?
Damn… this sounded good and I missed it! All of it! Probably because of the time slot (I have House and Scrubs DVR’d and can only do 2 at a time). If they had it on Wednesdays, I would have definately tuned in!
Fredd Goss hasn’t thrown in the towel yet. His blog is still stating that ABC is behind the show…It sounds like the show has critical acclaim and a loyal/growing fan base.
Here’s an IMDB photo of her.
I’m sure she’ll be a knockout in the future (I feel icky for thinking that, she’s only 15).
It’s good that Goss still thinks the show has a future, and I hope he’s right. But remember, the victims are often the last to know…
