Early reports are a drug crazed murder of his landlady and a fall trying to flee the cops.
Ransacked the entire house, murdered the elderly woman and her cat. WTF? This dude was pretty f’up.
The only witnesses were the man who owned the house next door and a painter who say they were attacked by Lewis before he fell to his death.
Other neighbors told police they heard a woman’s screams and glass breaking, Smith said.
A large pool of blood where police say Lewis’ head crashed onto the pavement remained Thursday in the driveway of the house that has for decades been the temporary home for actors and producers visiting Los Angeles to make movies. The home is located in the Los Feliz neighborhood near Griffith Park, on the eastern edge of the Hollywood district of Los Angeles.
Davis, who lived in the home for decades, “typically rented to people in the movie industry, writers and actors, and they would come up here because it’s a wonderful, quiet neighborhood,” Smith said.
Lewis had just been released from jail Aug 21.
E! News obtained criminal records revealing that Johnny had a big history of run-ins with the law in recent month. On Feb. 10 he was arrested for allegedly battering a woman and was later charged with assault and battery. He was arrested again on Feb. 18 and was ultimately sent to jail on Apr. 12 for that arrest. On Aug. 8, he withdrew his not guilty plea and plead no contest to one count of felony assault and was ordered to serve one year in county jail. On Aug. 17, he plead no contest to felony attempted burglary. He was just released from jail on Aug. 21.
It sounds like he was on bath salts.
I think it’s more likely schizophrenia. He’s had a string of recent crazy behavior. If bath salts caused him to an attack a woman and break into homes, I think he’d have stopped for at least a little while.
I heard he was high on phenathylamine and he didn’t just kill the cat, he ripped it to pieces.
A relevant article . The “elderly landlady” was well-known to (and much-beloved by) a lot of actors and comedians over the last few decades.
