Sony PSP: What game should I get?

Okay, so despite the condescending tone in the GameSpot lady’s voice, she does have a point: what game am I going to get with my PSP?
I’m having a hard time even finding a list of available games. I’m not so into the sport games, at least not yet. I do like RPGs, but they don’t seem to have any good ones out yet. I’ve heard good things about Twisted Metal - plus I’ve seen pictures with clowns and vehicles blowing up. That iright there s almost enough to sell me. Lumines, a puzzle game, has been getting great reviews, but I feel like I want something that will really push my system. I’ll probably pick it up later to feed the addiction that Tetris started lo these many years ago, but not right now. Ridge Racer(s) has been getting great reviews; I have no experience with any of its prior incarnations. Is it a good game? Should I wait until they release a Grand Tourismo on the PSP?
Is anybody else getting one?

I’m seriously thinking about plunking down for the PSP for portable versions of the games that got me to buy the original Playstation almost ten years ago. Twisted Metal and Wipeout.

Twisted Metal is a fantastic car combat game, and Wipeout is a super-smooth antigravity racing game. Both franchises have been through four or five iterations through the PS2, but on the PSP they’ll have online play and both of these games are excellent for multiplayer mayhem.

Both of those will keep me busy for a while. Burnout is another franchise that is supposed to make an appearance, and there is a Baldur’s Gate/Champions of Norrath style dungeon crawler that’s coming out soon, but I can’t remember its name. The cool thing about this last one is that unlike BG and CoN, the players aren’t all stuck playing on the same screen.

There’s some pretty cool stuff on the horizon for PSP…

What I want to know is there anybody who ISN’T selling overpriced bundles with games I don’t want to play?

EZ

I don’t have any plans for a PSP right now, but if I were, I’d go for WipeOut in a heartbeat. If it’s half as awesome as WipeOut XL for the original PS1, it’ll be wicked fun.

The bundles are all overpriced, but if you don’t want the game you can go to gamestop or eb games or whatever and just reserve the PSP alone. I think it’s only online that they’re selling the full thing. Or you can go to Walmart or Target and buy it there on the day it comes out - neither store takes preorders.
I’ve also heard they’re doing a Devil May Cry for the PSP too. The problem is, the coolest games (at least to my mind) aren’t being released yet. So why aren’t I waiting? Because I want one now. Twisted Metal is looking better and better.

Wait a few days, then get Ape Escape and Metal Gear Acid. Two of my favorite franchises.
