I thought the funniest Chris line was: “…Law and Order, SUV”.
I liked that, too. But my favorite lines this time, and every time he’s in an episode, all sprang from the mouth of Little Carmine. He’s so good at it, and the writers seem to feed him such goodies, that he reminds me of Norm Crosby. I guess my favorite string of Little Carmine malapropisms were in the scene from whichever season had him, Johnny Sack and Carmine, Sr. on the golf course discussing their issues with Tony. It was hard to keep from laughing long enough to get the drift of the scene.
And those stupid washing machines he gave his henchmen for perks. The guy is not all that into the mob thing, is he?
I assume the exp date is encoded into the mag strip, but how did they get the 3 digit code which isn’t? My only guess is that Martina was writing them down by hand and they just added it to the data file manually later.
That’s what my parents call it. Drives me nuts.
(Back to your regular programming.)
You don’t always need the 3 digit code. If I just scan my card through the mag strip, nobody writes anything down. Also for many on-line transactions they don’t ask for it. Should, perhaps, but don’t.
Yeah, but Chris made a big deal of them having the 3 digit codes when he sold them a set a few weeks ago. One would assume they’ve figured out how to get it.
Then I assume she just get’s it by hand and they manually add it.
It doesn’t seem like he is. I’m still annoyed that they haven’t shown him to have some reaction to Rusty being killed.
Carmine Jr. had to suddenly leave in the middle of the trip to Hollywood. I’m pretty sure that was because of Rusty’s death.
Good catch! Thanks.
Just watched this episode. I was suprised that Rusty didn’t seem nervous when his car was blocked by another car parking across his driveway in a deliberate move to block him (how often does that happen?) - and then he was asked questions by a young punk with a strong Italian accent (not that there is anything wrong with that :)). These people are paranoid for good reason and I think this incident would have sent off all sorts of warning bells.
Agreed. If someone blocked me (a non-mobster) off deliberately, warning bells would be going off.
I can’t believe the driver didn’t either floor it, knocking the assassin’s car out of the way as soon as they got out, or at least pull out a gun. And not keeping track of the other guy was even more boneheaded for a driver/bodyguard.

Ya, and I questioned the brains of the assassins who stood at that driver’s door and passenger’s door and then shot into the car directy at each other. Don’t they teach these guys anything?
Since the writers probably recognized the basic stupidity of the entire scene and most likely predicted that the faithful would be annoyed at how witless Rusty and his driver appeared, I can only surmise that they were making a statement as to the reliability and worth of Rusty as a counsel for Little Carmine. Sure, Little Carmine would look stupid even if Robert Duvall were his consigliere but having Frankie Valli play a hothead who wants to whack any lifeform in the tri-state area has always been a bit of a high-humor touch, as far as I’m concerned.
I believe we’re supposed to be amused, rather than shocked, that Rusty was such an easy hit. And his wife is probably even dumber or deaf or has her head crammed into a set of headphones listening to old Frankie Valli records on her iPod. I mean the guys didn’t even use silencers!
Whether intended or not, I just laughed at the whole thing.
