Greatest "intervention" scene ever: Sopranos 11/17 (spoilers)

“care-frontation” indeed.
Another great episode last night. The season is really picking up steam. So what did you think of last night’s ep? What’s going to happen next.

Will Christopher be successful in rehab? (not that Tony is giving him much of a choice)

Will Carmela sleep with Furio? (Would Furio be that stupid?)

What’s up with johnny Sack?

How about that painting of Tony that keeps staring at Paulie, funny stuff.

Whaddaya think?

I liked Silvio’s contribution:

“Your hair was touching the water. Disgusting”

Tony treating Furio like crap isn’t helping Furio’s chances. He was told in Italy that to have her, he’d have to kill the boss. Furio understood. If Tony’s a jerk to him, all the more reason.

The plastic on Paulie’s chair… too good to be true.

Line(s) of the line:
“So you’re the guy who stole all those pork loins…”
“Yes, but that’s not why I’m here.”

My favorite exchange of the season.

Adrianne: I had a procedure that pierced my uterus.

Christopher: Both of 'em?

Loved it when smacked-out Christopher sat on that ratty dog and KILLED it. I cheered. I cheered almost as loudly as when they killed off that other dog this season (aka Gloria Trillo.)

Was it just us or was last night’s episode laugh-out-loud-until-you-cry funny?

I, too, commented on Paulie’s plastic covered chair, Oblong. He’s such a mama’s boy. Did anyone else notice Paulie nervously looking around when Tony suggested NYC may have offed Ralphie?

OK, so I have a question. Why does NYC feel they’re entitled to a piece of this HUD action? Is NJ just an extension of a larger (NYC-based) crime family?

I thought maybe because it involved NYC properties, but those were in Newark. I think that the DiMeo crime family is not a true family in terms of being on equal terms with NYC, they still must pay tribute or something to the closest family to NJ. They can run things as they see fit but NJ still has to kick some upstairs (or across the river in this case).

Thats just a guess though.

My roommate and I were also laughing off our respective asses.

Man, I hope you don’t mean “dog” as in ugly. Annabella Sciorra is SO HOT. ::pant pant::

The “Next Week on the Sopranos” part made it sound like there’s going to be a rat before the season’s over. Whodya think it is? My WAG:

Uncle Junior

Quix

I like Paulie calling forfeit on the pool match near the beginning. He scarfed up the money pretty fast.

I also liked Tony being told off by the Russian after sleeping with her. Same treatment he gives to women.

Silvio’s playing a dangerous game, moreso than Paulie. Paulie isn’t smart enough to work Tony.

Tony almost couldn’t contain himself when he found out Chris killed the dog. He almost lost it there, too. Whodathunk Tony was a card-carrying PETA member?

This episode was really, really good. When Christopher sat on the dog I almost pissed my pants. I don’t advocate the mistreatment of animals but, come on that was funny. Tony’s reaction to the dogs untimely death was almost as funny. He got so angry when he heard. Tony Soprano the protector of animal rights!!

Now, does anybody else see this as a possibilty. Tony last night had sex with Svetlana. They showed that he had gone to the house a couple of times and each time he talked with her and he seemed quite impressed with her drive to succeed given her situation. He even got quite upset when she basically dumped him. Now here is what I am thinking, earlier in the episode Furio told Carmela that a relationship needs communication. Tony talks to this girl and at least to me seemed quite taken with her. Is this perhaps Tony’s new love?

In answer to the NY question:

It is my understanding that there are 2 seperate families. The NY family which is run by Carmine and the NJ family, the Sopranos run by Carlato and Tony. Now the NY family is bigger and much more dominating than the Soprano family. So, there was an agreement made in order for both of these families to co-exist so to speak. Carmine would not over run the Soprano family as long as he gets a percentage of major transactions. That is all.

Thanks for your time

What game’s Sil playing?

quixotic78 The “Next Week on the Sopranos” part made it sound like there’s going to be a rat before the season’s over. Whodya think it is?

I think the rat is going to be his nephew Chris. First of all the feds already have Adrianna. They bring Chris in and he will probably throw up on the table too. Secondly, Chris is the one that can do the most damage as he is Tony’s confidante. Plus that is the person Tony would have the hardest time killing, his nephew.

If it is not Chris then Furio is my next choice.
Furio knows everything as Tony’s driver and I guess right hand guy, sort of. Anyways instead of killing the boss to get to his woman why not rat him out.

One of the capos is already wired. I can’t remember his name but it’s not Patsy. Remember last season they had one scene on it.

It’s the one from season 1 that Tony offered the role of “Boss” to but he said he couldn’t do it because his son with MS was taking too much of his time.

The wired capo is Raymond Curto, who is played by George Loros.

He only shows up from time to time. I think he is a friend of David Chase. He did some great guest turns on “The Rockford Files” many years ago.

One as a disgruntled New Jersey hitman who had to track someone down on the West Coast and complained about the pizza and the freeway system.

“If it was anyone else, you’d have your intervention true da backada head.”

That show rocked. I can’t wait for the rest of the season.

I think they way someone put it in one episode is that they “share” State Assemblyman Zellman. Since the HUD action went through with Zellman’s help, they are entitled to some of the profits.

Boy, Tony is gonna be PISSED if he ever sees that painting hanging in Paulie’s place. Not only did he say he never wanted to see it again, but now he’s dressed like Napolean!

I think Paulie’s going to end up burning that painting himself. It seems to really be creeping him out.

It seems Silvio’s been upset ever since Tony named Christopher number 2.

First, he tells Patsy to skim off the construction site right after Tony said no.

Second, he hasn’t been backing Tony up all season. Whether because of the way Tony treated Paulie or some others, he wasn’t with him.

Third, he’s inviting free speech in the restaurant. I’ll bet he uses that to determine if he’s got backing for a power play.

Silvio, unlike Paulie, has been very subtle in his dealings.

I’ll go on record as saying I think we’re being misdirected toward Christopher as the rat. It’s too obvious. I think they’ll get to Bobby Bacala, maybe through Janice, or to Silvio, probably through his wife.

But then, I’m the guy who thought Vesuvio was bugged.

But hey, I guess if Christopher’s in rehab the wedding’s pushed back a little, huh?
